I don't get what people are complaining about.

an i5 in a 13" MBP is amazing along with the incorporation of lightpeak.

anybody else notice the weight of the old and alleged new mbp 13" are exactly the same?

4.5 pounds (2.04 kg)

Yep, which means either

A) This newest leak is a fake.
B) The French Leak was a fake.
C) They are both fake and who knows whats going to happen.

What a freaking disappointment. No SSD and resolution upgrade, i might as well save my money and keep my current 13" pro.

But, too late, i sold my pro on eBay already..... ****** you Apple.

We know specs for ONE model of MacBook Pro, likely the base 13". There will be others. I would be very surprised if there is not a version of the 13" with a 1400x900 screen. There will also definitely be SSDs available. Because of price they won't be standard, but we still don't know whether or not there is 8-16GB of NAND for the OS.

Sandy Bridge is SUPPOSED to have USB 3.0 built-in natively.

Yes, and It also supports wireless direct transmission of audio and video in HD, but that doesn't mean they'll enable or even support the feature. This is Apple we're talking about.

I know integrated graphics isn't the best, but on low settings, the i5, 4GB of ram, have got to allow the game to run pretty smooth right? I have an iMac with less RAM and slower CPU (but with graphics card) that can run Steam games EASILY.

Any spec-whores wanna chime in?

does it play starcraft 2 yes. I have the original macbook unibody(got burned bad on that purchase...) and it plays starcraft 2. Are the graphics turned up all the way, no not at all. But it's definitely playable. So these new ones should do a much much better job than mine.

Looks nice. Excited about lightpeak. Fast storage and what about the next iPhone and the next IPods and Ipad? Probably a safe bet they will have light peak.

Now to wait to see if SSD rumors are true or HD screens or bigger trackpads etc.

Wish dedicated gpu was on 13".

umm didnt the other rumors talk about having THREE USB ports as standard? [maybe the third one is supposed to be lightpeak or something ?!?!, even though lightpeak is not a USB] idk..something seems fishy..

What a waste

What a waste there's no spec they could add to make up for the intel 3000 vid card.

13" i7. 8 gb ddr3. 500gb ssd ultra hd screen matte all a 1/4 " thick with 2 month battery time. It would still be a garbage pile of a computer.

No wonder they would be dropping the white they should be dropping the 13" model completely and just leaving the air.

Could be on the other side like my current MbP.

Those images are completely fake and whoever wrote "confirmed legitimate" on the front page is a frigging idiot.

Are you ****ing kidding me? Please, please please link me a $399 PC with i5 sandy bridge CPU please. PLEASE. And 1366x768 isn't that much better than 1280x800. Both resolutions suck. But any Acer type computer cannot compare to the screen quality of the MBP 13".

Yes I know, I am clearly exaggerating, thank god the specs are still a little better than what you find in a laptop that goes for a third of the price ;)

I am aware that when you're buying a mac, you're getting more than just a spec list, however I still feel like this would be a severely underpowered computer for its price category in 2011...

I especially think that low resolution is gonna look really bad when they display it right next to an air at the stores. It already does but at least the MBPs had the excuse that they hadn't been updated yet

Liquid metal is just a pet project for Apple. Good for making those iPhone SIM paperclips but nothing more.

Now TRANSPARENT aluminium, that's the future ;)

Those are the most resistant paperclips I've ever known. I wouldn't mind Ive going back to the origins, would love a new Blondie iMac :D

that's what I was figuring, just wanted some first-hand accounts. thanks!

Yeah.. No this is fake..

Firstly, because of the picture defects (USB port) in the image of the ports.

Also, looking at the Legal stuff at the bottom of the specifications label. Notice that "FaceTime" is not listed as a trademark? Whereas "Airport" is, but it isn't even mentioned on the specs? (On previous labels, the Wireless is branded as "Airport").

If you look on the iPod Touch Legal stuff tho: (taken from my box)

The FaceTime trademark notice is on there..

My 2009 imac with 9400M gpu and 2.66ghz c2d plays SC2 decently. Settings are low and medium. Frame rates smooth. Can't vouch for large scale battles though with lots of players and units.

Real time strategy games tend to be more cpu limited than fps games and will benefit from the i5 cpu.

The page count on this thread grows faster than i can read it, i will be in this for years it seems ;)

And i really laughed about Thunderminium...haha!

THAT looks real. Finally, we see a picture that does not look like a hoax! At the end of it, the clear plastic was torn off. I'm believing everything now. Thanks for the pic!

You know that's the same picture as the one at the beginning of this thread (and on the home page) right?
