Just got my late 2016 MacBook Pro Touch 15inch w/ 2.9ghz option and upgraded GPU. So far I cycled through the battery once and am getting 5:38 hours at 99% (Looks like apple put an additional 2 cycles on battery before releasing for purchase). The below screen shot shows my battery status with all apps closed except 'activity monitor'. Not looking good so far. Maybe it will get better with a few more cycles.

Charge Information:
Charge Remaining (mAh): 6569
Fully Charged: No
Charging: No
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 6921

Health Information:
Cycle Count: 3
Condition: Normal
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): -809
Voltage (mV): 12563

The heat is also an issue. I would easily compare the heat to my early 2011 MacBook Pro 15inch w/ i7 and SSD.

I might have to downgrade the processor...anybody else getting < 6 hours?

Yikes! Not good to hear. Try posting in the MacBook Pro forum. this one is for the little 12" MacBook retina. You'll get more feedback over there :)
