95% of not coming out tomorrow. That apple insider says they would be getting a shipment in on tuesday/wednesday. That means at least a thursday release, the soonest..

Well, as I posted a few pages back, an Apple Store in the UK informed me that when the last Macbook Pros were announced, the stock arrived in the store the following day, so it fits I guess.

Here in Charleroi too... I hadn't noticed it was until the 15th... You make a point there, but maybe they're trying to get people into buying a new MBP as soon as it's out cause you can get 50€ to 100€ off your mac. Assuming new price - 50€ shouldn't be that great of a loss...

Actually, there's been product overlap before. For example - I think it was '08 here in Canada where they had the back-to-school promotion to get an iPod Touch free with a MacBook (Pro) purchase, only to release the iPod Touch 2.0 nearing the end of the promotion.

It never ends

The never ending game of "I just bought it now they update it" kills me sometimes.... For once I would like to enjoy more than a week of bragging about how I have the latest and greatest.

Yea, but anyone who bought a MBP in the past few months has already forfeited those bragging rights. The Core 2 Duo and 9400/9600 have not been the latest and greatest for a long time.

Actually, you might be right about that. I thought the download pane was expressed in bits. So actually, If I multiply 1.2 x 8, I would get 9.6 Mb/s. So actually, my 8Mb/s connection peaks at about 9.6 Mb/s. But most of the time it's 150-400 KB/s making it 1.2 Mb/s- 3.2 Mb/s.

There's also the MiB/MB confusion. Network speeds are measured in decimal (10^3, 10^6 etc). Many tools incorrectly report speeds in binary (2^10, 2^20 etc).

The faster the speed, the more the difference between the true MB and the MiB become. Better to find tools that at least tell you if a MB is 10^6 or 2^20.

Oh Really? I guess you haven't spent much time in rural Kansas, or perhaps in the middle of Yellowstone National Park...there are places where even wireless broadband can't reach....:):)

Just thought I'd brag a little bit...Fiber to my house!

price

Do you guys think there will be an increase in price of the laptops if apple upgrade them? should it happen or it shouldn't?

That's disgusting and I hate you.

Internet is super slow in rural areas of Missouri too. Here in KC, it's not as bad, but still nothing to write home about...:(

I would love to have the speeds you get there though.

This actually points to a Tuesday release. Apple very often use the phrase "Available to order from today" not "Available in store from today"

This, in most cases means the new products are available to order online straight away. They don't usually hit stores until the following day, though some Apple Stores may carry the product straight away. Resellers probably offer the item online straight away too, but won't have them physically in stores/in stock for up to a week or two later.

It isn't new because NBC doesn't want to compete with Apple releasing new MBPs, of course!

Well that makes sense. Silly me.
Awesome is probably exercising too hard to tape a new show. And Chuck is probably playing the new maps on COD: MW2.

not sure if this was posted but from AI today..

MacBook Pros

Over the weekend, several people with ties to Apple's retail and reseller channels passed along word of anomalies regarding inventories of MacBook Pros, specifically:

One person noted that his/her Apple retail store's inventory manager has been prohibited from placing any new orders for MacBook Pros through the company even though the store had run out of models to sell to customers.

Another person noted that his/her Apple retail store had similarly run out of 13- and 17-inch MacBook Pros, which has never happened at that particular store since he/she worked there.

A third person employed at an Apple retail store noted that stock of all three sizes of MacBook Pros were dangerously low as of this weekend. The inventory manager at that store was instructed to make room for a shipment of 16 palettes of Mac merchandize on either Tuesday or Wednesday, which is 4 palettes more Mac merchandize than the store typically stocks in total.

ahh work internet without firewall and proxies in the road.....

bring on the new macbook pro's....am just about to order one for work so can hold out for a month if needed.

Usb 3.0

Hi,

I am really hoping to have USB 3.0 on the new MacBookPro 13´, anti-glare, a new processor family and room for other things than a super drive. I don´t know about you folks, but when is the last time you really had to use the DVD/CD drive? Would be nice to have space for putting something else in there (or making the device even smaller)

best regards,

Kuck
