When they update the macbook pros, what's the fastest way to get them? Will they already have them in the stores?

Also, if they do have them in the stores, can you get the education discount in the stores or only online? By the way, any other discounts/coupon codes/tricks anyone knows of, or just the education discount?

Fastest way to get them is to break into 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino tonight and steal one.

You're welcome.

Also please take pics.

If we had transporters...we could just use lightspeed transporters? Right?

Yeah, seriously, that would be great. You can get the education discount in store too. As far as other discounts, the only thing I can think of for getting it through Apple is the printer discount. If you do break in, let us know if there is a 13" in the works too. :D

yeah you can certainly get a discount in stores by showing them a valid student card.

Also, another question... No one is this forum works for Apple...? Someone should have noticed something or even carried some new boxes ...

You think they have them in Cupertino? If you want to steal some, you would probably have to travel to the factories in China where they are being made...

"Designed by Apple in California" is a hell of a lot different than "Made in China".

Apple employees can't blog or talk online about business, I believe.

It's best just not to expect anything and the days go by easier. I'm not even planning on buying now but can't wait to see what/if they come up with. I personally would like to see faster HDD on all models. 5400 just doesn't cut it anymore.

Funny. I was thinking earlier that the best way to get proof would be to have someone cause a distraction at theoval Apple Store so I could slip into the store rim with a camera.

Operation Disocover Mac Book Pro is a go.

They already offer 7200rpm 500gb drives on the 15 and 17 inchers if you config them.

Understood, but I was assuming that they would have some in HQ by now if they were coming out in less than 12 hours.

It'll be interesting to see if they're updated tomorrow, but I wouldn't be purchasing one anyhow til the back to school special. $200 credit anyone? 8D

...so does that mean that we can get them in stores tomorrow (assuming they update)? Just apple stores or places like bestbuy/etc too? I assume education discount wont work for bestbuy though...

The local MacMan at my store told me that the education discount could work at our Best Buy...he was trying to sell me the 2k one a while back before he figured out I'm not in the market just yet, and that's one of the things he told me.

My brain must have time-warped - I read that as "the i5 and i7" ! ;)

Maybe tomorrow.

We can only hope right? well here is my wishlist:
i7 in top end model
higher res screen in 15 inch
better dedicated gpu

they really need to update there GPUs but regardless what ever they change I am buying since I desperately need a laptop. Currently using my mac mini ( specs in sig ) for heavy duty multi tasking like aperture and photoshop at the same time with 50mp panoramic images. let me say that it is not exactly a happy experience, it took more then 1 hour to put together an 11 exposure panoramic more then a 1 hour!!!! so I need to upgrade lol. I have been given a nice sum of 3 grand USD to spend so I think I will be happy :) I have never owned a computer that cost more then 800 dollars so cheers to that!

Are you freaking kidding me with that question!? For crying out loud...Look through any of the last 40 some pages!!!

As far as discounts go... other than the education discount, I've hear that any US citizen is eligible for Government Employee pricing in the online store. Also, many Apple Partner Corporate employees get special discount pricing... for instance Intel employees get 15% off in both the online store and local stores:D.

I work at Best Buy and the education discount does work there. Best Buy price matches, so just let them know that you want the education discount that apple offers and they will allow it. Also, not too add anymore speculation to whether or not the 13" is getting an update or not. I checked the entire west-coast inventory and all of the stores are pretty limited on quantity and it shows that none of the stores are getting anymore in anytime soon. We get new shipments in on Mondays and Fridays typically, and I just found it odd that the entire westcoast was not only limited on quantity but it appeared no-one was getting anymore in this week. Just thought I would throw that out there. lol.

Apple releasing 10.6.3 v1.1

I just upgraded to OS X 10.6.3 last night, and today, there is v1.1 of the OS. What are we to make of that? Did they forget something in the March release or might this have to do with all new MacBook's tomorrow? They would run 10.6.3 already, though, no?

65MB more "stuff" with no release notes nor specific performance improvements sure sounds like "new hardware drivers" to me.

I really hope the new MB's come soon. My 2007 MacBook is falling apart. Literally. Dying HD's, overheating processor, random shutdowns when too hot, dying battery, palmrest cracks (again), loud grinding fan, dim screen, yellow screen, long waits before grey Apple shows up during booting. Everything that can go wrong is going wrong. It is time. I am ready. I have the world in my hand.
