I agree with others here. I highly doubt Apple would hold a special event just to demo a new version of Aperture. There has to be something else... I'm really hoping for a new iSight. I think that shipping time of October says a lot. :)
I am now on board with an upgraded iSight, and we all know the main reason is for the Aperture update. I'm starting to doubt the fact that the MBP will be updated w/ the C2D however.

I initially thought that it was going to happen, as the timing made sense with the upcoming Intel conference and all. Who knows? 30 minutes and counting.

Store NOT down....

Seems odd if there is to be an update and the stores not down yet. Though having said this it is an hour and a half presentation, I'm sure they could just start updating it at the start of the presentation. Then come 2 hours from now we'll be rejoicing!!!

See you December 2nd!!

We still have 24 minutes to go... The US store usually goes down 5-10 prior to the start.

Let say we are lucky. Then it's 30 percent for a new case. Anyone more optimistic?
I wouldn't say any better than that. I think that if anything, we'll be getting C2D and upgraded graphics. MAYBE quick-swap HD... i doubt a new case design is in the works until Spring w/ the release of Leopard and all that other wonderful-ness

Today or Tomorrow, we all waited so long. So waiting more day isnt't that spectacular.

It will be a complete redesign...im sure on that.

I guess some people just like setting themselves up for disappointment.

Seriously though, every other laptop manufacuter has basically just swapped out Yonah for Merom in their current lineup, with no new models, etc.

Why would Apple be any different in this case? Apple is much more likely to save a complete case redesign for Santa Rosa.

Personally I think it's doubtful we'll even see minor case modifications (like magnetic latches and more easily replaceable HDD's).

the company i work for gets corporate rates for their employees that are on par or cheaper then the student rate ;)

Actually that's a good point - I need to check that as we get a corporate discount here too..

Yes, i am more optimistic, i think lots of people. more than 30%. They will macke it thicker due to the heat problems. example brenthaven...

go rain on someone elses parade!

I'm just being realistic. I want a c2d MBP as well, but I seriously doubt we're getting it this week (I would love to be wrong.) But go ahead and get yourself worked up.

i havent read anyone looking into the other items mentioned here outside of the MBP..

so i went an checked out the iSight and it saying shipping October as well as this iSight acces kit...

Cinemas, Aperature say 24hrs..

soon i will be opening my MBP sitting next to me or upgrading..

15min til showtime

Also, just as a general point, I can't understand what the excitement is over Core 2 Duo upgrades. It seems pretty clear now that we've seen the various PC notebooks with Core 2 Duo that it isn't that big a deal. We're not looking at significantly better performance, better battery life, cooler operation, etc.

I mean, it's not like the MBP suddenly becomes much more attractive than it already is. I was just playing around with the Core 2 Duo Sony SZ 330 at Best Buy, and you know what? It basically seems the exact same as the Core Duo SZ230 before it.

I mean, it's kind of nice knowing you have the latest technology, but I don't see why it warrants this level of anticipation.
