It ain't over until tomorrow morning When Photokina Expo Opens. Remember how Apple waited until NAB Expo opened to reveal the first 17" CD MBP With NO Press Conference and only that evening event for the educational crowd at the end of the first day of the expo?

Frustrating: slightly. But not the extent of getting a windows environment just for a simple processor difference. That's just absolutely ridiculous. Seriously.

No, no, no.

I was ridiculed for saying it wouldn't happen at a photograpy event, and many people said I was nuts - you personally said it was almost a 100% sure thing.

Not.

I don't doubt that we will see a laptop upgrade within the next 20 Tuesdays. :p

I sold my Tibook last August, almost pulled the trigger on a new MBP.
Was disappointed that there were no real big cosmetic changes. Then
the MB really caught my attention. At least Apple came up with a new
look. All this delay on a new MBP, I can't help but think it has to do more
with a new design then just the new chips.

Look, if nothing happens between now and the end of November, which is
to me not that long, you can bet the farm you will see it at MW2007.

And if that's the case, a little over 3 months, I will wait.

Given that the release of a C2D MBPs isn't that big of a change (say as compared to introducing a 24" iMac) - *if* there is an update to the MBPs it will be silent.

well at least imho.

We still have the Intel Developers Conference in San Francisco this week. Any day it may happen. Or not as you say. I'm sure you are much wiser than me.

Agreed. Interesting to note that although Steve bragged a lot about the new iPod and iTunes last week, he did not say ONE WORD about the C2D iMacs. Perhaps they have decided that rolling out this transition from CD to C2D should be done as low key as possible so as to upset as few early adopters of CD models as possible. 2006 is after all a year of transition that many of us here, students of the Intel Roadmap, have chosen to wait through until C2D models shipped.

Well, Fuji choked on delivering a new camera, and now Apple chokes on new laptops. Guess I'll be putting money in my savings account after all! :cool:

If Apple doesn't update the laptops in Oct, I'll probably just wait until next year. I don't need one that bad...
 
To ease the pain....

To ease the pain of dissapointment I just ordered my dell 2007wfp that will be partner to my MBP when it comes. Dell had 25% off ending on the 27th so I just went for it, I can't justify a ACD with the lack of connections relative to the 2007wfp at £150 more.(student prices). A bit of topic, but what are the rest of you doing to ease the dissapointment :)

This screen will look massive next to my little g4 mini. Infact now my 17-inch (G4) imac will look small :(
