Just looking at all the angles

jaigo said:
Well, I blame alot of these so called "insiders" who think they know how Apple thinks. I hate hype because it just sets you up for dissapointment.

I don't think anyone is claiming to know how Apple thinks, but just covering
all the angles. Just like a golf ball going in the hole. It has to take the right
angle. We have covered pretty much all the angles and one of them could be the correct angle.

Which one?

Interesting to note that although Steve bragged a lot about the new iPod and iTunes last week, he did not say ONE WORD about the C2D iMacs. Perhaps they have decided that rolling out this transition from CD to C2D should be done as low key as possible so as to upset as few early adopters of CD models as possible. 2006 is after all a year of transition that many of us here, students of the Intel Roadmap, have known to wait through until C2D models shipped.

i have to acknowledge this IS an interesting point... but still not enough to keep me out of hibernation zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Give it up already. You're not getting the Moron in the MBP until January.

You really believe that? For Apple to be 4 months behind every other notebook manufacturer would mean there's an absolute cluster**** in Apple R&D/manufacturing! Merom is a drop-in replacement for Yonah (along with a firmware update), so a lengthy delay would be a huge embarassment for Apple, especially after the hype over Intel-ization of all-things-Apple. If they miss an early-October Merom MBP, it would be a very bad sign!

If you're right (and I think you're pulling our collective chains here!), then there's "trouble right here in River City" in Cupertino!

Guess I'll just keep my money for now ......

:(

I cant really say im dissapointed. Wednesday was my absolute late day. If i dont see anything on wednesday, then i'll know Apple has completely gone coocoo and would just get a VAIO or Pavilion and dump ubuntu on it.

following this thread appears to be a waste of time as of now. If it doesn't happen tomorrow i'll just stop watching these threads.

id like to note that they haven't even updated the apple store website for the aperature update. It also appears to me that it won't happen today. Maybe they will put it up tomorrow when they announce the new macbook pros. hopefully

They announced that it would be available for download later this week.

But you did notice they have updated the Apple Aperture web page right?

You guys! Look at the name of the thread. It says "At Photokina".

Newsflash - Photokina doesn't begin until tomorrow

Tuesday and runs through next Sunday. I'd say we have another week of this thread legitimately running until it's Ova.

is it completely insane to go ahead and order a mbp on hopes that they upgrade it before it ships? my patience is running thin...

Keep Up The Positive Spirit. Tomorrow Photokina Begins!

No i didn't notice that thanks for pointing that out. Well the apple homepage hasn't been updated since the ipod release so maybe we'll see a macbook pro on the front page tomorrow.
That's the spirit! Now you're writing like a true believer.

Yes that would be quite insane. Just dig deeper and find your infinite patience waiting for you to call on it for guidance. I know you can do it.

There's nothing wrong with the one they are selling now. If you need it buy it, simple as that. Can't always wait for the next best thing or I'd be holding out for a quantum computer.
Says the early adopter who wants you to join his soon to be obsolete greoup of 32-bit has-beens. :p And you must know I am pulling your leg tvguru. Zero offense intended.

So you're going to get something else JUST because Apple hasn't updated their perfectly good notebooks with a chip that's hotter and runs maybe 10% faster? That's idiotic.

What makes you think I don't use various platforms in my work and that waiting vs buying a core 2 duo machine now doesn't make sense for my current needs?

I love osx, and will hold out a little longer, but if Apple can't stay competitive with pro machines being released on the pc side they will be getting less of my money than they would otherwise.

AHHH!!!

that's not what I want to hear... :p

damn

still nothing...

Those new MBP's will have to be mindblowing and amazing I think, otherwise we'll all be disappointed... Waiting this LONG for just an cpu-upgrade...

I would buy me an MBP now.. I really don't care about Merom. It's just price of MBP is still the same as when it first came out... So you'll be paying alot for almost a year-old machine... That's my trouble.

I need one for school! So I guess I'll wait and do my homework on my old G4 400mhz. Not very good for photoshop but well...

IS EXACTLY WHAT i'M GOING TO DO....

.........................................................tomorrow :D

I have't had a problem with my notebook computer, so that puts the whole thermal problem arguement in question for me.

No harm no foul. I bought mine when I was about to go to school in July. I wanted to hold out for WWDC but couldn't. Needless to say I was happy not to see an update then, but now it doesn't make a difference one way or the other. It's nice to have the latest and greatest, but I like to think I don't need to compensate. :D :D :p

man, this is killing me... but i have to stay optimistic... i can hold out longer for the upgrade... i just hope it's a substantial upgrade at that... (wishing) BLACK MBP
