MacBook Pro Upgrade At Photokina?

I need a replacement computer, but I do have plenty other computers to play around with, although sometimes they get frustrating given their age, and most of them aren't mine

In some ways, it's a relief to finally step off the Merom rollercoaster ride that's been riveting me since August. I plan on taking a break from the rumor sites, enjoying my new computer, and figuring out how to get my iTunes library back on the computer off of my iPod. I wish you all the very best of luck in holding out for what I'm sure will be an even more fantastic machine somewhere down the line.

Well, now I'm kind of pessimistic. I think somebody mentioned this, but it doesn't seem likely that they will update the MBP line this week, since they have the Aperture image up in the Apple store. Doesn't seem likely that they will replace that with a MBP banner within a matter of days/hours. And it doesn't seem likely that they will update the MBPs without a banner in the store (like with the iMacs). So, maybe we have at least a couple of weeks...

I just had a thought about the upgrading to Core 2 Duo. Maybe it'll come at the MacExpo event at the end of Oct. I know it's not what we want to hear, but it does kinda make sense looking at the different events on:

MBP Ordered Today... Shipping 3 Oct
Couldn't wait any longer so finally broke down and ordered my MBP 15" 2.16. Apple UK says it's going out 3 October. Fingers crossed for a C2D model!

man.. i wouldn't have done this..
in a few days you will get an c2d, with less heat problems and probably less random shutdown...etc.
if you really need, why not just take a pen and a paper for this short time?
