MBP vs. MBP--Looks

Yeah, functionality should have nothing to with ones decision making process in the purchase of a computer, who cares if it works ... let's just ask about looks.

I never said that functionality wasn't important.

But when someone asks you which one looks better or cooler, why start talking about which is more functional?

Im just wondering what people think... and i may be a little bit bored lol ;) I think the Macbook pro is pretty awesome looking, especially when its on one of those stands like the X-Stand. The Macbook Air seems a bit too thin if you know what i mean lol. It still looks cool though. So guys, what do you think? And yes i know I'm going to get some bias opinions putting this in the Macbook Pro section. It just happens to be above the macbook air forum so i clicked it first lol

It has nothing to do with the computers themselves...it has to do with the users.

And we all look cool.

Your survey is flawed without that as one of the available options.

Because if it is not functional .... it's not cool.

Computers are tools of productivity, they are not fashion accessories.

Read the title again. "Which LOOKS cooler?"

Read my answer:

The one that WORKS BETTER looks cooler !!!

Have a nice day, I am off with my extremely functional and thus extremely cool looking 17" MBP with Hi-Res Anti-Glare Screen to be a productive member of society!

Duty calls! ;)

The Pro looks better due to its uniformity. The Air looks like it is mis-shaped - I don't care for the wedge look.

And it feels flimsy compared to the Pro.

I guess the debate in this thread is simply caused by MBA owner vs. MBP owner :D
of course, who'd say what he/she has bought is actually UGLY.. :D:D:D
same goes with, your son/daughter would probably looks the most beautiful/handsome kid of all other the kids in the world... this case would be your macbook :D

as such.. you guys should just stop talking, and hit the poll...

To me, the MBA looks sleeker and sexier, but the MBP has that certain rugged appeal. All other things equal, I would still go with the MBA. :)

Just buy both.
And because all you want is 'cool', EMPTY their guts out so they will be even lighter to carry around.
Oh yeah, and you can use the empty shells to store your little rubber and cool COLOUR PENCILS in them. :D

The OP never said that all he wanted was "cool". He just asked a simple question. Why can't you just answer instead of trying to look smart?

My cousin is in the national guard he took my old 2005 compaq with him to iraq. when his unit returned he told me that someone took a macbook air over there and it came apart on him. there was another person who took the 13mbp and it never failed the person with the air had issues with the portable superdrive also. so in my opinion the current look and thickness of the mbp are better than the airs and the superdrive is better protected with the bigger chassis.

I like the more pro look of the pro. They look the same to me, but the Air is just thinner. I don't like how the edges of the screen are so big, and the Air is too small in my opinion.

My Pro looks more industrial, pro, and the screen size is perfect (15").

So Pro it is for me :).. As said previously, the Air is the future though.

TBH, I have a MacBook Pro, but I would really like a MacBook air. The only thing stopping me is the price and storage. I store a lot of stuff, so I need lots of storage. When the price of the storage comes down, I'll be first in line!

I like the solid look and feel of the Pro, but I think there's too little screen real estate on the 13". To get 1440x900 pixels, I would have to get the 15", and then I'm better off with an Air. I don't need the extra horsepower that the Pro 15" provides over the Pro 13", and I most certainly don't need the extra weight nor the extra size.
