Just a day after the first MacBook Pro with Touch Bar orders began arriving to customers, a select number of Apple retail stores have received stock and are offering limited quantities of the new machine.

MacRumors reader Nicholas was able to purchase a new 15-inch MacBook Pro at the Apple Store in La Brea, California, and according to a Reddit thread, several other stores across California have also been selling Touch Bar MacBook Pro models. New MacBook Pros have been spotted in Rancho Cucamonga, Fairview, Emeryville, and Walnut Creek, and one Redditor claims to have purchased a 13-inch MacBook Pro from the Soho Apple Store in New York, while a MacRumors reader says he found a MacBook Pro in New Jersey.

In other parts of the United States, stores do not yet have Touch Bar MacBook Pro models available for purchase, but multiple customers have been told to expect the machines to be in stock starting tomorrow. At some locations, however, customers have been told no MacBook Pro models will be available before Thanksgiving, so country-wide in-store availability may not happen for a few weeks.

Along with limited stock, Apple retail stores are expected to have display models on hand before the end of the week. In Hong Kong, the Touch Bar MacBook Pro has been on display since yesterday, and several customers have reported being told that display models will be in stores as soon as Wednesday.

In store pickup is not available for the new MacBook Pros, so customers hoping to skip the 4 to 5 week wait for a Touch Bar machine will need to call or visit an Apple retail store in person to check stock levels.

[doublepost=1479323982][/doublepost]After reading this post this morning I jumped on Apple.com and it showed nothing available at all. Then tried Best Buy.com and guess what? I am typing this on my spanking new MBP 13" TB. Best Buy is right across the street from my office. So even better. And to all the trolls or moaners and groaners who complain about everything. This is a fine machine. The screen with P3 is SWEET! And coming from the MacBook the keyboard is fine. Glad I didn't wait until late December if I ordered one.

walked in walked out with mine. they didn't have one on display but given that the holiday return policy is in effect I have until January 7th to see if I like it lol!!!

I picked up a 15" in space gray at an Apple Store this am. The screen is gorgeous and I haven't seen one complaint here about a yellow or uneven screen yet. This may be a first. I love everything about this computer with one exception. I didn't think the dongle thing would be an issue for me, but the first thing I noticed was that the adaptor for my Bose radio to connect wirelessly is USB and it stays in all the time. Will look pretty silly with a dongle.

OK I'll bite ...... Firstly I wasn't whining, I was stating a fact and also having an opinion. I suggest you look up the definitions of those words.

Secondly, you were the one to stated that everyone should basically shut up about dongles due to the fact you upgraded from a machine where you already had to use dongles .... hardly a representative sample of the majority of users who have been waiting for this MBP refresh

Thirdly, yes I have to use A dongle currently. I also use SD cards and USB sticks and HDMI which will require MORE dongles than I have to use now.

And finally, you think I didn't know it was a PC? Here's another pic for you....

Oops. Haha. PC dongle jokes and legacy ports are super funny!

You only need to buy one adapter if you like, and its $10. So, the same number as now.
Have you been whining this hard on forums about the fact you currently need one adapter?

Thing is, in a year nothing till happen. By the time the industry might have considered to adopt USB C the MacBook pros will be obsolete. Abd the difference between floppy drives and USB A, well you can't really make that comparison. USB A is a de facto standard today and will be for many years, while floppy had some severe limitations and had to go.

I expect the MacBook Pro to last at least 4 to 6 years of use. As for USB C, I give it another two years before it starts becoming mainstream. And when it does, you will be glad your MacBook Pro comes with those USB C ports.

I went to a local Apple Store here in MN and they had several of the new MacBook Pros. I am also happy to report they have an upgraded model with the 4GB Radeon Pro 460! It was $3499 and also included an upgrade 2.9 i7 CPU and 1TB Flash.

yes, but the last two years will have to suffer. And we want to buy and have something new in two years. you understand the idea

How is this bad for Apple? They DO NOT WANT business in lower price ranges.

Apple already has models in various price ranges. Since I don't automatically buy anything with an Apple logo I compare MBPs with various PC laptops. Why shouldn't I?

I think people forget that Apple is built on high margins. Be it iPhones or laptops, high margins are expected. Apple's prices and lack of compelling features are forcing me to look around for other options.

As of Sunday, they had the non-touchbar MBP only at the Apple Store I hit up in Manhattan.

As an early and virulent hater of the "butterfly" keyboard on the rMB, I have to admit that the newer version of that keyboard is quite a bit better. Key travel is still pretty short for my taste, but there's a more audible key sound now (though not obnoxiously so) and the tactile feedback feels just a little snappier to me as well. I tried it right alongside the rMB for comparison. To me, it's now a usable keyboard. Others may disagree, as it's still got less key travel than previous Apple keyboards. That arrow key layout is still garbage, though. Why lose the "inverted T"?

Got mine in store today so I'm canceling the pre-order. 15" has an incredible screen and the trackpad (which is what I like the best about this laptops is just awesome. Vey nice machine all around, way way better than I expected, even the keyboard is much better than the MacBook. With all that said, I feel that this is not worth price tag, especially when my 2013 MacBook Pro still rocks... I will be returning it to store tomorrow or sometime over the weekend...

No it won't. By the time the industry adopts it (if they ever will) 'these machines' will be in the ground.

Thing is even if the industry adopt it, the real world will still lag behind.

Remember mini display ports? aka thunderbolt 2, well that didn't work out that well. People are still connecting to projectors with ***** vga and dvi, it's only the last 2 years I've seen a wide spread adoption of at least having mini dvi/displayport cables widespread. If you are someone who travel and see conference rooms etc technology is not changed that very often for the sake of cost and compatibility. But then again, if you're only using technology for your own sake and connecting to your own devices i guess you're fine.

The argument is you're paying for **** you can't really use properly for the sake of being in the front.

And in 4-5 years when usb C is closing in on becoming de facto, usb d or whatever is the next thing will be the prospect and this circus continues.

Read your own argument. You want your personal laptop to have VGA, DVI, HDMI, display port, miniDisplay, Thunderbolt 1/2 ports? Because you are right. They are all still in use. There are still specialized test fixtures with 25 pin serial ports floating around. You want that too? You can be at the front with one or two adaptors that you occasionally need. Or you can have a dozen obsolete ports festooning the back of your 2 inch thick droning space heater.

Awesome, nothing says "Pro" more than this....

Nice laptop. It needs RCA audio and component video ports though. ;O

What are the ten dongles you need?
Or are you just making sh&t up to make a minor issue a big whine?

As a developer? Mostly C -> actually usable USB. I use more than one. Another for my SD cards. Another for connecting to a monitor. Another to replicate MagSafe since they took that off.

And so on.

Tell me, is there anything Apple could do with a product that would make you openly criticize them? You are the reason they have become so complacent and are trailing the competition for the first time since the iPhone.

I was able to buy a 13" MBP TB 3.3 i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD from the Soho Apple Store in NYC Wednesday morning.

Pretty nice laptop, expensive and the dongles are annoying but when I'm just using it as it is without anything plugged in, it's great.

well for $10 you can get one connector with SD, HDMI and USBa. So you could do with that and the magsafe. So 2,not 10? Perhaps you should complain 80% less

I think these new rMBPs are too expensive and have pointed that out in the threads here. But i don't have to come into every thread and complain about it to others. This thread is about availability. Not ports. What relevance is your whining about ports in a thread about something completely unrelated? Perhaps you just like to hear yourself complaining? I dunno...

Im not sure that any other laptop out there has 4 full channels of TB3. You tell me...apparently they are trailing the competition.

Checking Denver stores everyday. Still nothing. My pre order ships Dec 21. :(

Check your local best buy I had an Apple Store order for Dec 21, but yesterday went to pick up something at best buy and ask about the new MBP and they have in stock. I cancelled my Apple Store order and enjoying my new pro.

Thanks. Bestbuy seems to have just the base models...

Nah, just the ports that are de facto, such as USB A for instance and a hdmi or a display port/thunderbolt 2. Pair that with two usb 3 for FUTURE PROOFING not ****ing forcing people to buy **** that are not in use in today's world (and likely won't be for the life time of these machines).

Yes, but makes much more sense when you realize who the customers are and who the users here are.
Seriously, every time I step foot in an Apple store, I'm surrounded by people who have serious problems doing the most basic things with a computer or mobile device. I'm quite sure none of those folks ever so much as stumbled onto the MacRumors web site.

As someone who works in computer support for a living and has been in I.T. for 25+ years, it's easy for me to surround myself with computer-savvy "power user" types and have technical discussions about the merits or downsides of new products and software updates. But when I step outside that "bubble" and look at what MOST of the public is doing? I see people who buy Macs because their kids want them for school, and people with more money than sense who buy them because other people told them they were the "best computers" (even though they aren't going to do much with one besides web surf and store some photos on it). I see still others who know how to use software apps like Microsoft Office well enough to get a lot of work done each day with them, but don't have a clue what all the technical specs really mean for the hardware.

So yeah -- it's ENTIRELY understandable about a new Apple product can achieve record sales, and yet be a source of constant complaining from the tech-savvy crowd like you find on these forums.

Funny... it seems like with anything new Apple product these days... Apple announces...people complain (a lot here on MRs)... record sales achieved.

Personally... I wish the new MBP's we're $500 cheaper, but they do seem to be selling well.

USB x 4, SD, MagSafe, Ethernet, lightning, DisplayPort. That's not 2, fanboy. It's nine.
