Check the dates on my order and tracking events. Earlier this week, there was a vague email notice from Apple about a delay.

Order date; Nov 16
Estimated delivery; Dec 15

UPDATE 4: Received my computer on the 15th at around 16:30 h. This date is the same delivery date from an email that Apple sent me giving me the tracking and courier info about 3 weeks ago.

UPDATE 3: On the 14th it remained in the warehouse and the delivery dated was pushed to the 15th.

UPDATE 2: UPS now gives an estimate delivery for "Tuesday, December 14 by End of Day"

UPDATE 1: There are newer events in the Shipment Progress for my order (14 in., 32 GB, 1 TB) not shown in this image but I'll share them in two days. According to the Shipment Progress records I saved as a pdf I got when I ordered an iPad Pro in 2020, it's a matter of two days or less for the new MB Pro to be delivered to me.

Only takes a day and a half to go from Toronto to Shanghai. So if you're in a major city it's possible.

Mine got pushed back to 8 days this morning, but now it's back to 2 days (Tuesday).

I’m in Montreal… So maybe it could be here by wednesday. When I ordered, the delivery window was december 15-22 so I’m still in the early part.

So per the limited data that we have in Google Sheets, if you’re ordering a 14”, go with a 1TB drive for faster shipping. Apparently the wait for the 512GB is quite a bit longer. Not sure why, maybe more limited supply?

My order just arrived in Memphis this morning. What is the likelihood that it comes much sooner than Dec 17? I don't wanna get my hopes up but I don't see a legitimate reason for it to sit in Memphis for 5 days (though I have seen that happen to other people so I'm more than prepared).

I ordered the 14" base model with a 1TB drive on November 29th and have yet to see any updates. They told me it would take between 3-6 weeks before I will see anything. Anyone else as well?

Got a stock silver m1 max in-store yesterday...probably one of the only ones in the new york area. I think people just need to check stores randomly because they are getting stock but not updating inventory online as often.

So I really convinced myself that I would not order this new MacBook, but I just pulled the trigger. 16 inch M1 Pro coming in January to replace my 2019 15 inch. Can't wait!
You'll have to post how you find the 16" vs the 2019 15". That's the larger laptop I was coming from (many others seem to have the 16" 2019 vs 15") - but I was so frustrated with the excess fans/heat on the i9 intel chip (even though the fans were running full bore) that I bought the 13" m1 much earlier this year to tide myself over til the new ones came out. Now I'm using a 14" M1 Pro and keep wondering if I should go to the 16".

When did you order yours? I placed my order on Nov 23rd. Interesting that we live in the same city and mine is coming via UPS and it looks like yours is coming FedEx. I still have an estimated delivery date for this Tuesday. The last update (this past Friday) showed that it‘s still in China.

Wow this lined up with a flight that departed from Korea. At this point is there additional flight to track to the next hub in the US? I am scheduled for Tuesday, is it possible for this to arrive.... tomorrow?..... lol the MBP madness is starting to

I ordered a 14” on Nov 25th. No updates, still processing. Expected delivery is 12/13-12/20. We’ll see if that holds true…

The UPS flight numbers remain the same from PVG (Shanghai) to ICN (Seoul) to ANC (Anchorage) to SDF (Louisville). So those three flights are the same plane and the same flight number.

My UPS app says that the package cleared Customs before it arrived in Louisville. It has been sitting in Louisville since Sunday afternoon arrival from ANC. If there is a flight to my local UPS hub airport tonight, it is possible it'll be updated to delivery on Monday, but it is still saying "Rescheduled Delivery" on Tuesday I'm guessing there is no flight on Sunday night/Monday morning, but they do occasionally surprise us an earlier delivery. It would be updated on Monday morning if it is coming on Monday- I'm guessing if you arranged for CC pickup on Tuesday it'd be available there on Monday.

Most of my experience with UPS is my yearly adventure with the new iPhones, which are smaller boxes and probably a higher priority delivery in Apple's plan. But if you were following the iPhone delivery threads this year there were many "complications" of the phones sitting in China for many days just like we've seen with these MBPs.

If I recall, my recent Mac devices being shipped from China were FedEx, so I was surprised to see this one coming via UPS. And, as we've noticed with 2021 shipping, our assumptions based on past performance are often no longer valid. :?:

Just received mine! My god, moving from a Macbook Pro 13" 2019 to a Macbook Pro M1Max 16" is like HUGE!

Though it arrived 3 days later, getting it today is good enough!

Not that it necessarily will be - but if your experience is anything like mine waiting for (supposedly over) a month for Apple to deliver my iPad, if you've now been charged, your MBP will suddenly turn up a week early, with very little notice...

Indeed! I've been using an M1 Max that I found at my local Apple Store on launch day, what a fortunate find!

My M1 Max replaced a 10 Core and maxed out GPU iMac Pro (as well as an i9 16" MBP) and editing in Final Cut is now about editing rather than waiting and wondering what was causing all those spinning beachballs! I really have enjoyed max performance whether at my editing desk or sitting in my front yard, and having one computer to do all tasks instead of sharing it between the two high powered and hot Intel Mac computers that I chose based on my location when I was using it.

It is fast in all facets of computer usage and I massively notice how slow the Intel computers are when I do some work on one of them as I have to wait on things that are instant on the M1 Max.

That would be nice, I’ll keep the google docs tracking list updated with the progress. Fingers crossed!

My current desktop/laptop setup is identical to yours and I have the exact same complaints. Really looking forward to my M1 Max if it ever escapes from Shanghai - last update was the 11th..

On the Way
Arrived at Facility
Louisville, KY, United States
Estimated delivery
Tuesday, December 14 by 9:00 P.M.

So as it stands since there was no more movement once it arrived at Louisville last night, it will be tomorrow . I was hoping for it to arrive today but alas it looks like it will be the original date . I have not seen a package arrive midday to the local CC here in FL before.

After over 2 weeks with no progress, status changed to “Preparing to ship” this morning. Still pending card charge.

Can't wait to get mine, I'm making the same jump from 2019 13" to a 16"!! :D

Is it that crazy big or it's just that the screen is larger? Do you regret it?

It exists, and is on its way!

16”, Max, GPU 32, 64GB, 2TB SSD, Space Gray

Ordered: 29 Oct
Pending CC charge: Dec 8
Preparing to ship: Dec 11
Shipped: Dec 13
Extimated arrival: Dec 21 (last day of previous estimate)
Tracking live: Dec 13
Carrier: DHL

I’m hopeful for this week, since usually shipping from China to NZ is a 1-2 day affair and I live an hour away from the airport and DHL distribution hub (Small country!).

Updated in the sheet to give you who are still waiting some ideas of the times once things start moving.

Anyone else order a 14" around the first week of November and still in processing hell? I'm thinking the combo of 64GB RAM and M1 Max are what's holding me up. Seeing a number of 16" computers with similar specs ordered AFTER November 5th (my order date) that have shipped and been delivered.

14-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray

Hardware:

  • Accessory Kit
  • Backlit Magic Keyboard with Touch ID - US English
  • 64GB unified memory
  • 1TB SSD storage
  • Apple M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine
  • 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display
  • Three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI port, SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 port
  • 96W USB-C Power Adapter
