All the features and integration Apple introduce are worth noting and exciting. Plus, people have been waiting for these Macbook Pro for a long time. Especially when they were not released during the summer. There is a reason why these Apple Macbook Pro have been delayed until late December and January.

When you have a touch bar, anything better is a breath of fresh air.

The renders here make the laptop look thinner than they seem to be in real life...

What are you doing with your current M1 Mac? I know you are attached to it. It's a special one. Hopefully, you find one in the stores. You never know. You might get lucky. Hey! you found yourself a SS Apple Watch and they are delayed
My current M1 Mac is being sold to a family member, really needed a Mac, couldn't turn down the offer. 🤦‍♂️

Might give it to him for free after this morning result, I'm on cloud 5. 😍

It does But this is a MacBook Pro we are talking about not Macbook Air. It is all about longer battery life and pure performance. I'll take that over thinness. By default, it doesn't matter how thick it is.

Everyone freaking out over your orders: if you’ve been charged and Apple gave you a date and it’s processing: it’ll come that day. In 20 years I’ve never had Apple delay an order with that info. Ever. Just Relax.

If there is no charge and a date range? It may or may not come Tuesday.

Plus it’s a faster laptop. That’s it. That’s super nice but that’s all it is. It’s not a new product line or anything. I’m excited to test mine but ultimately I need to do work on it. So I’m not exactly dying to work. Lol
Posts like this are a waste of time. And I know it's been address so many times, but I feel like I need to contribute my 2 cents. We all know it's "just a faster laptop" (although to some, including me, it's much much more than that). This forum is for enthusiasts who enjoy following its journey from the manufacturer to our doorstep. We get joy out of that journey. It's not just about the product that shows up on our doorstep, but how it got there. We have forum members here who are actively listening to the ATC radio to hear the UPS plane be cleared for take off, we have people identifying the exact factory that the device came from, etc. We get it, it's a laptop. But it doesn't stop there for us.

Pardon any typos/grammar mistakes, it happens when I'm annoyed and I dont want to proof read :)

We are all here ********ting about pre-ordering a computer, it is for fun. Although many people are going to be using these for some kind of work so a faster, cooler one is actually a really big deal.

I don’t think they were in the same plane. If they were… some sort of a tracking number would have shown up. There is a high chance they are coming from stateside and Apple has a set inventory assigned. Which will be overnight to us on Monday. If it was coming from China tracking number would have populated. For now they have not been shipped yet.
My theory is all base models (stock configs) are in a larger crate in the same planes. This saves time/custom clearances for UPS since they just need to scan one label which would have X of MacBook's in it. Then they get sorted and assigned individual labels. In a way, it's the way it should be. Stock configs doesn't need to be individually shipped like custom configs This is an a way eco-friendly as well.

Apple either way has to ship large amounts of stock configs to 3rd party resellers as well.

I want to put my 2 cents out there on the thickness too! ?

Let’s be real here. If you want thin and light, you should buy the M1 MacBook Air. Its no slouch of a machine - and its owners are quite proud ones, and should be! Not to mention, the battery life on it is INSANITY. The MacBook Pro is NOT marketed as an average web browsing, email reading, YouTube watching machine. Some folks here have the means to make it that for them - and that’s GREAT! But the MacBook Pro is marketed toward the Pros who care less about overall thickness, but need the raw horsepower. The biggest mistake Apple has made (IMO) is working to make devices so stinking thin - at the expense of heat dissipation (which directly impacts performance) as well as at the expense of our much needed battery life. IMO - the 15” 2015 MBP was the ideal size/weight for the MacBook PRO. It was portable, yet powerful. Unfortunately, Intel has held it back - and I can’t wait to get my hands on my 14” MBP. This thing will be a monster. But its not meant to be thin. It never has been. I hope the obsession with thin & light for the Pro models is a thing of the past. I want it to be suited for the performance I’m buying it for!

This might not be the right thread for you. This is tradition - we fully know how ridiculous it all is, yet we do it anyway, because we enjoy it, and we enjoy each other. If our excitement makes you cranky, you're probably best scrolling past this thread. We do it every year, for every product, and we make lasting friendships from it. The best option is to just join us in the madness.

Trust me when I say that "just relax" has ZERO impact here...or, perhaps take your own advice and join in the fun. :)

I've spoken to someone with knowledge on this matter. They are all on pallets until they get to Louisville and clear customs. The pallets have a tracking number, but so do all of the packages that are on that pallet. When that pallet tracking number is scanned, it updates all of the packages individual tracking numbers within the pallet. Logistically, it would be a nightmare to scan single packages.

Fair enough. I get the fun. If it’s fun; It’s just about perspective - and not worrying. Worry adds nothing to the equation.

That’s all good and I do it too! But needless worry and stress isn’t healthy for anyone. That was my only point.
