If it were me, I always have two chargers, one stays at home and one goes with me in my bag. I would have done the same this time, but I’m hoping anker or someone can come out with a good multi port charger that delivers over 100w that I will use for my travel charger.

Same here. I actually ordered two additional. One for my road gear, one for my hone office and one for downstairs. No way I want to chance forgetting it and I want to make sure I have the ability to fast charge before I hop on a plane. I end up in so many odd scenarios that I want the ability to charge fast.

Good point. But I'm hoping we barely have to charge our MacBook Pro now. Since the battery life is insane. All of a sudden that $99.00 price for a charger is too steep. Oh well, doesn't hurt to keep an extra pair. Who knows... In the future, Apple may stop providing charger with a Mac.

Yeah, it is rather steep. However, you have at least 4 Apple stores near you. You can always run them over to return and get instant credit back to your account. I will definitely get a 2nd charge cable, but hoping that Anker will release a 100 to 100+ GaN charger. Then again, looking at Anker‘s site, anything that would support our 16 might top Apple’s price. Something to think about.

Have you confirmed that whatever software your are currently running will be compatible with the M1? Also, what is your current ram/storage? Will you be happy going from a 16 to a 14? The 16/512 will probably more than meet your needs.
