What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

I’ll be ordering a 16” and I’m excited.

I think setting the expectation of event announcements this week is unfounded - they’ll leave that Jobs tribute up for a few days and then we’re in Apple Watch order / review / delivery zone from the 8th to the 15th. Invites on the 19th for an event on the 26th seem far more likely to me.

oh, YayArea, what would we do without you…😂💜

still running on my maxed-out 15” early ‘15 Pro but MAN, that thing’s fans are getting to me…Intel Inside! *insert chime here*

if we see a reasonable return to some more ports (Apple, PLEASE throw us a bone and give us USB-A and HDMI back, at LEAST) I will certainly be looking at the 16”. if their latest products (iMac, iPhones 12 and 13) are any indication, they are returning to the type of design language that drew me to Apple to begin with.

also, if they could fix that thing…what’s it called…all of their current OSes? that would be splendid😝

How likely is it for Apple to announce the rumoured 12th Oct event today?
lol, not likely in the slightest I’m afraid, Apple’s homepage is a little too busy…or simple, depending on how you look at it!

(on that note, god d*mn someone’s been cuttin onions in my house)

Wow! We already have a thread on pre-orders and delivery status of products which are yet just rumored.
I thought I'd missed an announcement when I saw the thread appear.

Apart from the ports coming back, I still think its going to be a case of evolution rather than revolution with these - i.e. no ProMotion screens or FaceID. So don't get me wrong, I can't wait to order one, but I'm not expecting to be surprised or blown away by any of their features if that makes sense?

This is the year we are expecting a massive upgrade. I can't wait either. My 2017 MacBook is a joke now. It's slow, sluggish and battery is dieing.

Served you real well. Still using my 2012 unibody MacBook Pro 😭. Planning on upgrading to the 14 inch, 32gb of ram and 512gb of storage. Don’t keep a lot of my MacBook anymore, don’t need to.

Thank you!!! Glad you are joining this thread this year. I have a feeling Apple will introduce most of the features since it’s due for a major re-design. I think this year will be the biggest upgrade of the MacBook Pro it will ever receive. So many people are waiting for it. Apple knows that.

Also, remember this article 😂

Sold my late 2013 13" mbp a while ago and starting to miss having a laptop... It was super sluggish at that point so really looking forward to possibly picking up a 14" :D

Just don't increase the price too much and I'm sold...

I was looking at the current 13 inch MacBook Pro at Costco a couple weeks ago. I don’t know. I think the Touch Bar looks pretty cool. I’m not sure I want it gone in the next iteration that’s coming up. Anybody here have experience with that Touch Bar? Is it worth it or unnecessary?

@TheYayAreaLiving great getting this up and running!

I'm going to spin off a UK specific thread once we've got some confirmed details to track our new Macs to our doors!

I was hoping for an announcement today for an event but doesn't look to be :(
Thank you! It could be any day now. Unless it’s delayed till November. I don’t think that’s the case.

It’s just a gimmick. Not too useful. Not worth it in my opinion.

Generally they do the announcements of events a week beforehand. It's not yet 10am PDT, so it's possible they'll announce an event for October 12th today. That said, I would guess it's more likely that we'll have the event on the 19th because October 11th is a federal holiday in the US, and it might not be ideal for Apple to have an event the day after a three-day weekend.

That’s a good point. For iPhone 13 the event was right after the Labor Day. Anything is possible.

with the back to university promotions ending on the 11th (in Europe), the rumours were suggesting, (yep.. clutching at straws!) if it followed last years pattern of an event a day after the promotion ended, we'd have been a week away from seeing the MacBooks.

looks like that didn't pan out :(

anyone else foolishly try and trade in their MacBook on the rumours it was launching earlier this year? Made the mistake of believing Prosser and the like that it was launching this summer.. traded in the MacBook to try and maximise resale.. now been Mac-less for nearly half a year!

the sooner the better!

would like to think the bulk of the content for a virtual event was already done so it would be a matter of pushing the button on it.. can only guess as usual with all of this
