THE MAP UPDATED AND HES DRIVING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION ??

Ive had experience with that map(Back when I was receiving my ps5) the map is useless, dont rely on the map, it will go all over the place..its not reliable I remember I watched it for hours thinking he's literally 2 minutes from my house why doesn't he come..so I called UPS and they said yeah the map, dont rely on it

I appreciate the offer. Funny story, I was able to get “Follow My Driver” working on the UPS site by following an old email link (it‘s almost as if it became activated on its own, so weird) but anyway… I did get to spy on my poor driver and I saw it refresh and change to deliver the second it happened.

I called my boss to make sure it was cool I went home an hour early…. Actually I’m not clear on if he was clear I wasn’t going to return but with THE AMOUNT OF EXTRA HOURS I put in weekly (not counting the moments I’m on here of course) I’m sure it‘s okay.

I have thoroughly cleaned our coffee table and it’s time to rip open the box and UNLEASH this little (beefy) beast!

Have the rest of the week off on me 😎😂 enjoy your new beast. 👌

Yes, it was delivered this morning. I was working so I didn’t have a chance to set it up when it arrived. It’s now set up and it is a thing of beauty. 🤩😍🥰

I was able to order one at 8 AM today (16" M1 Max 32 Core 32GB RAM 1TB SSD) and picked it up around 10 AM. Super easy. Cancelled my pre-order which was scheduled to arrive over the next two weeks.

I'd advise anyone still seeing "processing" to check if you can order for same day pickup instead. If so, and you get an email confirmation for pickup, cancel the pre-order. They messed up big-time with the delivery estimates this year.

I pre-ordered my config minutes after the models were up on the Apple Store and was given an early to mid November delivery date, meanwhile my friend ordered the same model hours later and was given an Oct 26 delivery date (which was delayed to tomorrow). And yet, they have specced out models available for purchase in store. Nothing about this makes sense.

I looked into that out of curiosity earlier but it’s actually estimating that my exact BTO configuration would be delivered Dec 4th - Dec 10th and there is no store pickup option in my area.

I guess I’m one of those people not meant to get my MacBook early LOL.

Crazy.

Finally turned the stupid thing off ?‍♂️ signed out of my Apple ID, signed back in, allowed iCloud Drive to stay on when the notification popped up ?‍♂️? then I could finally disable it.

Yes, the screen does get a lot dimmer at 5 bars brightness. If I set brightness to 7-8 bars, it is very comfortable. I cannot do screens that are too bright.

I am loving this so far, and like others have said, when focusing on what I am doing, I don't notice the notch. I can tell you though at the highest brightness setting, it hurts my eyes.

I really like the responsiveness and the speakers are awesome. Let me know if there is anything else you need me to test. Oh, I really like the keyboard!?

I'm looking forward to trying it out, but if you go to "Settings" and "Desktop and Screensaver", and under "Desktop Pictures", if you select one of the "Light and Dark Desktop" backgrounds and choose on of the desert rock scenes in nighttime mode, it makes a beautiful starry night background and the notch is never visible. This would be the case with any black background, but the Apple backgrounds I mentioned are pretty nice.

Yep, you'll still have to untick stuff in iCloud, it turns some things on by default. 🤦‍♂️

Wow! I’m definitely going to test out different backgrounds. In all of my other Apple devices, I have it set in dark mode which @Apple_Robert turned me onto. It is much more comfortable on my eyes, but on my desktop, I use the light mode for work and school.

I can’t wait to hear your impressions after your delivery tomorrow.

See, most high performance bowling balls have a coverstock on it, whether that coverstock is plastic/polyester, urethane, or reactive resin... But they also have a core that is either symmetric or asymmetric. For example, Hammer's Black Widow bowling balls have the Gas Mask core in it (yes, it looks like a gas mask):

Get Tim's attention? Simple.. Make a bowling ball with an Apple core. They can't be sued for it; Apples are common, plus they would be hypocritical after winning their battle with Apple Records.

Anyway, I digress. I'm going to wait one more week then place the order for the Mac; While they'll take the educational discount at the stores, they won't have the model I want.

I am absolutely dumbfounded by how nice this thing feels. I've never used a computer this nice. It is sturdy AF. 'Tank' is the first thing I said when I saw it. The flatness of the surfaces feels excellent yet the corners are still nicely curved and comfortable. The screen is beautiful. I'm out of superlatives.

"Tank" is VERY appropriate with these.

All I can say after getting delivery today is that this new MBP is just stunning.

I have never had such a positive first impression from a new computer.

The screen, the silver color, the entire first impression experience is just first class. Love it!!
