What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

Yes, I am still in major disbelief over the whole process. Honestly I think it is hogwash. It was my first time using the Veterans and Military Purchase program, although I first logged into ID.me in 2019. Now I will be lucky to see my order in December, very disappointing.

6 years USAF & 33 years NOAA/NWS.

When I spoke with Apple earlier today I told them that as a veteran they made me feel like a 2nd class citizen. I also told Apple the 10% discount wasn't worth the hours of time I have spent trying to get a valid explanation for using the program, and that in retrospect, I wished I never utilized it.
It must have been a glitch somewhere and the apple rep you spoke to was completely bonkers. I’ve used that page for years, and other than it being slow to populate on pre-order days—rarely, I’ve never had a problem with ordering anything. I’m sorry that you felt that way.

Thank you for your service and happy (early) Veteran’s Day!

Thanks I have literally spent 16 days trying to figure it out. Both ID.me & Apple deny any problems other than the no discounts for pre-orders Apple mentioned.

That means our package flight is most likely by UPS 91! Fingers crossed it leaves soon 🤞

@Goldfire you're pallet buddies with us! See post quote below:

Hopefully it catches this UPS 91 flight - it has a history of flying from Incheon, SK > Anchorage, Ak > Louisville, KY (for US customs clearance):

Yep.. it definitely has a history of flying that route. It's a daily flight. Even the iPhones when purchased at launch have been on that flight. So you could track that flight at any time regardless of if there is Apple cargo onboard or not.

@LFC2020 @TheYayAreaLiving @beach bum

My polishing cloth arrived via TNT overnight express lol. Estimate was originally Dec 3 to 12 so I got it a month early.

That elaborate delivery packaging - more cardboard than the actual package for the cloth.

The cloth is nice but smaller than I thought. It’s much thicker than the ones you get from the optometrist.

Id be wiping down all my Apple devices with this now!
Woo Hoo! Congratulations!!! Welcome to the club. Glad you’ll be using it to wiping down your Apple devices. It is premium, huh?

So... this happened.

Thank you to @LasersGoPewPew for the idea of checking my local Apple Store. I had to get 3 to make the $9 courier delivery fee worth it. The box is smaller than I expected.
Yay! Congratulations!!! Hope you like them. SMH, they are delayed till end of January.

Apple told me this morning the reason I could not complete my pre-order on 10/18 was due to them not allowing any pre-order discounts from programs like Veterans and Military Purchase Plan - I told them I had never seen that advertised during or before purchase process.
I had no problem at all and I ordered day of announcement. Sorry that happened to you, I hope you were at least able to get it ordered fairly quickly and with the discount.

It's funny seeing all these posts about the polish cloth, last week i picked one up from the local apple store, i guess i got one from the initial i store batch. It didnt even seem like a big deal at the time, but the salesperson was like 'yeah these are going to be back ordered until next year'.
At this point… it’s the principle that matters.

@LFC2020 @Boardiesboi As I sit here listening to Wichita Lineman, drinking the last of my Elysian Pumpkin Ale, I think of all the great things borne from Australia; Colin Hay (although born in Scotland) and the Holden, just to name a couple. I've seen Colin many times singing solo, and met him for a beer afterwards (twice), and 15 years ago I owned a Holden export. Cars that were fun to drive

Cheers.

I ordered 11/20 & got the discount. By then delivery dates had slipped to late November & early December.

Thanks for your feedback, appreciate it.

That's a bummer you're not able to get the 10% discount. I completed my order within the 1st 5 minutes and got the discount with no problems.View attachment 1900991
Thanks for posting that screen shot. Plan to call Apple management tomorrow to inquire about duality of policy.

I did get 10 percent discount - just my order would not process through ID.me on the 18th.

If Apple goes with no notch on the 14, I think they will have a riot on their hands from everyone who has purchased the new M1s which was a controversial move on Apple’s part. It also makes you think what they’ll do with the next iteration of the MBPs.

No notch, I can see all of us trading in our MBPs for the no notch. If Apple goes that route, I can see them not introducing the new MBPs until at least 2023 to avoid the uproar.
Well, the whole USB-C - so much more versatile and expandable, you don't need USB-A/HDMI/SD card slots/ports - to now, including them again is a similar back track they had to do. Took a few years, so I think that notch will be around for a while on the MBPs while Apple figures a way of making it seem like a revolutionary thing to provide a 16.2" screen w/o notch. Maybe I should be holding out for the M3 Max chip, 16" with no notch and USB-C (or A)/HDMI/SD port etc...

+1 to pallet buddies! Tracking the same on my end. UPS has me for a Nov. 8 delivery, Apple’s site still has it as the 5th. Excited to finally see some movement, hahah.
