So sorry for the hassle. Hopefully you see some sort of a movement soon. Maybe try this route...I feel like so many hours and days have passed where I contact Apple and get read the scripts. Even the management team could or did do nothing. I find it quite vexing - been going on for 3 weeks now with no solid answers. I really appreciate your help & support.
I agree with you. Have you been in touch with Apple customer relations department? At the Apple corporate?
Tough it out and try some Rocky Mountain Oysters! No thanks, I’ve seen this stuff on tv ??
You are a life saver! Will call first thing Wednesday morning. So sorry for the hassle. Hopefully you see some sort of a movement soon. Maybe try this route...
Call Apple Corporate Office: (408) 996–1010
An operate will pick up the phone and will say Apple Operator... Say "Customer Relations, please. They will direct your call to the customer relations department.
Also, you can only call during the business hours 8-5 M-F. So, the earlier the better. Preferably 08:30AM.
Food, I’m in lol.Tough it out and try some Rocky Mountain Oysters!
It's the little things, right?? Love it!ok so something awesome just happened, well at least to me: I pulled my new 16" MBP M1 closer to me and the display didn't shake or wobble whatever! my previous 13" MBP M1 would still be wobbling as I type this lol
I have the exact same trackingIs anyone else's MBP stuck in Shanghai waiting to ship out via UPS? I was supposed to receive mine on Nov 2nd. There is still not delivery date. Anyone know what's going on?

The best little thing I've noticed so far is that the display doesn't touch the keyboard when the lid is closed (seemingly). In all my past MBPs the display would eventually develop a faint outline of the keyboard and I'd have to wipe it off repeatedly every few days. Haven't happened so far on the new MBP so I think the thickness has also meant that the display stays clean of keyboard smidges now! It's the little things, right?? Love it!
At least one aspect of this that no one will get transparency on, is the impact of Chinese Customs and that clearing process. What if there's a slow roll going on maybe because of some ongoing negotiations either between China and Apple, China/Foxconn and Apple - or even China and USA, etc., causing delays at ZhengZhou?. Consumer goods and economics is one way to impose one's will on another from country to country. Just wondering if there's a bigger picture to the delays that we are seeing in our own little MBP bubble. But when ordering Apple provides shipping dates - if due to the chip shortage they should be more honest with customers. Before product release Apple said they were not having issues with SOC's due to priority with TSMC.
Should move in the next few days. My laptop shipped the 2nd and just left Shanghai yesterday. Is anyone else's MBP stuck in Shanghai waiting to ship out via UPS? I was supposed to receive mine on Nov 2nd. There is still not delivery date. Anyone know what's going on?

Issue is I don’t work in a cafe. 🤣 wouldn’t mind though. I think I might like it.It makes a great second monitor while working in cafes...
I’ve been wondering about the keyboard touching the display. Do you know for fact? I just keep the paper on it that came between the two. I used to do that but it got too frustrating so I let it be. And I don't know how to confirm that it doesn't touch fully, but I just checked the display again and it's pristine, has no marks at all. I use it 16+ hours a day and the lid is closed 7~ hours, so the same conditions as my previous MBP.I’ve been wondering about the keyboard touching the display. Do you know for fact? Well, I did say seemingly...anyway it's just my personal experience as I said in my previous post. Two weeks of heavy usage and no marks at all, which in my experience has not been the case with older MBPs.How do you know this for fact?
That's good. Some say that the laptop screen only touches the keyboard when under compression, like while sitting in a bag with other items in it like books. Anything to add to that effect from your personal experience?I used to do that but it got too frustrating so I let it be. Release day MBP, so two weeks old now and no marks at all.
Mine is a "home laptop" never really goes outside lol. So na, neither my old nor my new MBP has been under compression so I can't speak for that. It's always on a desk/bed.That's good. Right...hence why I think it's still a good idea to use a screen protector if you are running around with these expensive laptops. RadTech makes the one I use but they have yet to cut a design for the new machines. Should be any day now.Mine is a "home laptop" never really goes outside lol. It does seem like the gasket around the display is thicker/taller so you could be right.Mine is a "home laptop" never really goes outside lol. So na, neither my old nor my new MBP has been under compression so I can't speak for that. It's always on a desk/bed.
I love Anker products! They have such a good reputation. I had one of their portable chargers and called to ask them about the cost of a 9v charging cord and they sent it to me for free. And their customer support is really good.![]()
Went with one that was not floating but also did not need Airpods charging.
Can’t go wrong with anker, trusted brand.![]()

To test… place the laptop on a table with lid closed, grab a flashlight or use the flashlight on your phone, aim the light at the side seam and see if there is a minute gap. Another way to test is to place an 8x11 piece of paper leaving a bit of overhang, close the lid then pull the paper out. Resistance or does it pull through easily? It does seem like the gasket around the display is thicker/taller so you could be right.
