What size screen MacBook Pro (2021) did you order?

looks like it was safari. It had consumed over 18 hours of energy. will test today by closing all apps or at least safari. I normally keep it running.
I would force close all the apps and then restart your mac so you don’t have any apps running in the background.

I ordered a 16" 32C GPU/32GB/1TB on 11/3/2021...still stuck on order processing. Ordered through Apple Business so don't get an estimated ship date. Any chance someone who ordered a standard config 16" early Nov can share their delivery estimate?
Ordered on 11/1 Standard (like yours). Ordered at Vet Site. Only addition was Apple Care. Current estimated DEL date is between 11/26 and 12/3 - The original del date was about a week later but got reduced - Order is still in PROCESSING today.

I needed a new computer, and I needed it now... so I bought a 16" M1 Pro (512gb/16gb) that was in stock at the local Apple Store with the intention of returning it while waiting for my real 16" MBP (2tb/32gb/M1 Pro) to arrive in a month. Thanks extended return due to the holidays. I feel bad about this, but to be fair the Apple Store sales person flat out said that people sometimes do this when in need and Apple is taking a long time to get things out. That all being said.... Freaking LOVE this Mac. It's beautiful and wicked fast and I couldn't be more impressed with Apple.

I just wish it had the MacBook Pro logo on the bottom of the screen. A tribute to years and years of PowerBook and MBP lines. That's the only thing I wish it had.

The curse of Shanghai continues. Today's update from UPS is new to me, they don't want me checking tomorrow anymore, 7-8 days and counting while stuck in China. COME ON!!!!!

I’m tempted to cancel I’ve been so frustrated. AppleCare is ticking since it shipped and my money is in oblivion. Temped to pay half and get a base model in store

Yeah i've thought about it too. I decided it's not worth settling for a less powerful model (at least for me), the point of upgrading to this new model was to get the full effect of the maxed out model lol

Not as far as I know, the overall status hasn't changed.
I'm going to call UPS again today and try to work myself up the phone tree until I get someone knowledgable will let you all know how that goes... last I've heard from them it already finalized the clearance phase and now it's been sitting in "ready to ship out" phase indefinitely

My tracking just changed to the same thing. Shipped two days ago with an original scheduled delivery date of Monday, November 15th according to UPS and has been stuck in Shanghai since shipping. Apple has been saying Friday, November 19th, which seems more likely.

I'm not sure if Mac delivery dates are grouped like iPhones are but, has anyone in the Nov 9th - Nov 16th changed to preparing to ship? Ordered the 16" M1 Max 32GB 1TB on the 18th.

Just fyi i called UPS's international shipping department and got to a supervisor, she explained our Macs are not lost and are sitting in the Shanghai warehouse waiting still to be flown out. She explained that they are having massive issues in China right now and a majority of the outbound shipments are being affected by long waits... she also said that mechanical breakdowns with the UPS cargo planes a couple weeks ago has compounded these issues. She said all she can do is assure me that the Mac is not lost and it'll ship out soon, also mentioned one week is the typical Shanghai wait time. Based on the one week rule she said our boxes should leave either tonight or tomorrow, with delivery early-mid next week. fingers crossed

My MBP is finally out of ZhengZhou hell! After a week sitting there with no movement, I wake up this morning and not only has it left ZhengZhou to Korea, it's already left Korea!

Hopefully the next stop is somewhere in the US and I can finally get my laptop in the next few days (I'm in SoCal).

I can help with the first part of your inquiry: based on what some people have said here, and based on the tracking i've seen so far, I believe Macs are grouped same as iPhones at least on UPS. It's called UPS World Ease and apparently it's cost-effective for Apple/UPS & it reduces customs headaches through massive batch shipments vs. individual custom forms for each shipment

Good gravy, this is incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for calling and updating us here.

Still doesn't help that I would love to have my MacBook over the weekend installing everything, haha. A shame they can't do more to unblock the log jams but I get it.

It's about 1am there now, I suspect another day..

Yeah it's a disappointing situation but at least we know it's not actually "lost" in their network...

Also.... this is weird. I got an email notification 15 minutes ago from UPS MyChoice saying that the shipment is delivering on Monday... but then when I go to the actual tracking page it shows this:

Since I've never seen the "The delivery date will be provided as soon as possible" exact wording like that, my best guess is that they are fully aware of this mess up and they are giving our shipment block special attention (would explain them testing the Monday rescheduled delivery date notification). or maybe I'm going nuts trying to analyze their methods... 😂😂😂

Here's hoping that in the next few weeks UPS can work out their issues. Mine isn't slated to ship for another 3-4 weeks, so here's hoping. I really hope for Apple's sake and Apple's customers sake, UPS can figure their crap out so those wanting new Apple products to be opened on Christmas Day can do so... the window is unfortunately closing for many people if they don't order soon.

Looks like we're going to be pallet buddies again 😏

I have a feeling UPS waits until all the MBP orders are stacked and fills the plane before shipping out from Shanghai 🤔 Kind of like when you're in an amusement park and waiting in long lines to get on rides. The rides can only take maybe 20 people, so even if you're the 1st person in line, the ride probably won't move until the 20th person gets on 😆

I am probably the 20th person 😬

Also, as it gets closer to the Holidays, UPS shipments will increase across the board due to online shoppers. My guess is that we're only going to see things ramp up as other online retailers are starting their black friday sales early to beat the delivery bottle necks. Lots of online shopping this year due to covid lockdowns from various regions of the U.S.A.

I'm just excited to get my MBP here so I can start working on cool projects! 🤓

That looks pretty nice, and good price on it too ($16!), though it is PU Leather (polyurethane leather, artificial), hence the price. I wanted to get a nice distressed leather sleeve, so I ended up getting the below from Etsy (US$62). It ships from China, but the seller has great reviews, and you can get free engraving of initials (which I did). I ordered it over the weekend and it shipped a few days later. I opted for the free shipping (which is supposed to be 1-2 weeks into the US), so will post some pics / thoughts after I receive it.

That is beautiful! If I needed a sleeve that is the one I would want.
