Well… I originally ordered total of 7 Apple Polishing Cloth. Yesterday I got an email 6 out of 1 got cancelled. However I’m promised by Apple they are sending me just one polishing cloth. Which is set to arrive on October 26th. Believe it or not they are delayed 2-3 months now and the delivery date is not even showing anymore.
Also, I got an email from yesterday from Apple Manager. They will be calling me to discuss further… I was not on my best behavior on Monday 😈 Call me crazy… lunatic… weird… extreme… insane… or whatever…it’s all good! 🥲🥲

So I just found out about 6% back Apple Card. I used my Amex for purchase protection and extended warranty, but the extra 3% already covers AppleCare+ for the extended warranty period and the monthly installments would be a huge bonus (I don't like spikes in my yearly graph haha)
Apple specialist suggested I return and re-order but I already got emotionally attached to this MacBook, also won't ship until late November. Oh what to do

If I had to guess, they likely flagged the orders because they're all going to one place - and considering the resale market for new Apple "things" right after launch, they're likely trying to ensure that you're not trying to profit off of their low inventory.
I think your reasoning however (one for each device) is completely sound.

Well, losing actually. Because Apple insists on accepting credit cards only and we do everything with debit cards or bank transfers, the purchase has been blocked. The credit card I do have has a very low limit. So tomorrow I need to beg the bank for a temporary limit increase. Sigh.
