That's ok
If I did buy an air, I would buy a refurb. I'm making my final decision on Oct 14th. I'm sick of this waiting!

Sorry for off-topic but you sound one of those girls who likes Yu-Gi-Oh!. You remind of a girl that I know who likes Yu-Gi-Oh!.
Back on topic.
If nothing happens on October 14-15th, expect some Anarchy all around the world by angry and disappointed Apple users.![]()
(srry for the nerdy stereotypes, I myself am a self proclaim(though quietly) nerd)
I have semi-long hair and do not wear glasses but proclaim my self a some-what kind of a nerd/geek.
Most geeks/nerds I know have Macs.
All four of us in my AP computer science class (the very same class you jerks keep me from doing my hw in) are very fond of macs![]()
Thanks for giving me an idea for a new thread.
Back on topic, do you see the next MacBooks not having an Intel Integrated graphics?

Does anyone know if the Mac Pro update will fall on 10/14?.. or at least suspect it will?
I've heard a lot about the laptops but nothing about the Mac Pro's.. and unfortunately I'm in the market for one.
Anyone have any guesses on that?
You mean the Macbook Pro LAPTOP??

I sure hope the MBAs get a huge upgrade on the 14th (or earlier would be good). If they were worth the price tag I'm sure many more people would buy them! I have all the brochures of the notebooks so I could compare the specs and it is way way way way overpriced
It will 100% likely be a revamp across the line. Intel has stopped shipments of the CPU used in the MacPro in the 100k unit size (10k,1k unit bulks ARE still shipping to OEMs). Not saying Apple buys that many, but if I were Apple I would (they get 20% off and change cpu's rarely over a 6mo time).
MacPro's will get Nehalem CPU's. About 100% faster all around, Quickpath and 1666 bus. You can expect the MacPro to drop the jaws of pretty much everyone on this thread and then some. It's the king of tower computers and lately it's been more of a prince so some rework is on the way.
iMac's and MacMini's along with AppleTV will also get updated CPU's. The AppleTV is using an antique Pentium M Dothan (memory?) that is purely outdated and OUTWEIGHED on HD Content (before you fire read the rest), while it can play it without problems if Apple is to provide more and more HD content it's gonna need to update the CPU/RAM/Chipset to keep the bloggers at bay from overcritizing the machine into the museums.
If the MacMini is to stay around it will get a near life bumpgrade. I hope they keep the Mini and update its internals but there's a large gap between the Mini and the MP that needs filled. iMac's are great and deserve the spot there but for tweakers and hacks to get there Mac joint on a Mid-Tower type would suite very well. Something with a 3.5" drive or TWO and a PCI X graphics card that is upgradeable (SINGLE).
iMac's will certainly get Centrino2 chips that the MBP's are to get.
The base macbooks could see a slight revamp on internals but a major overhaul on externals. Imagine the current 15" MacBook pro's specs (top-o-line) in the Macbook with a slimmer and sturdier chassis.
We'll see Intel graphics stay, sorry but I think it works on the low-mid range systems. I use the X3100 on the Macbook with a 24" HP set to 1920x1200 (I think that's it) in dual screens as well and it works. In clamshell it gets full range. It works and that's the point. If you NEED power that's what the big boys are for.
MacBook Air will certainly get the biggest upgrade of them all. ULV Intel Centrino2 chips for sure. And were talking an order of 80-140% faster speeds. 160gb HD's in a SATA running 5400rpm OR 120gb 7200rpm drives (HP's 2133 is using these same drives RIGHT NOW and they work!). In the SSD department we'll see Samsung's 128gb drive (fastest of the bunch overall). Both will get better battery life as well using 3200/3700mah battery parts (they are out there).
****Does this mean the current lineup are dogs? Nah, there macs. It just means that yes the TECH is there and apparently someone said on a container, but either way Intel, AMD, nVidia, and the rest have shipped these items for about a month. Lenovo's got theirs out, ASUS has theirs out, Toshiba and even Dell have theirs out... So it's Apple's turn. **Speed estimates are based on PC turnover and ratings, NOT EXPECTED APPLE!
SSE4 will show up across the board.
My Wishes:
Mini-Notebook with 10" screen, good specs, 32gb SSD OR 80gb HD.
MacMini with at least Penryn CPU's, 8gb ram limit and 128mb video
AppleTV with TV Tuner built in, optical drive optional
The rest is gravy.
I think the new MacBook Air could be 16:9 ratio. Maybe that is one of the reasons we have not seen a new MacBook Air. Apple perhaps want 16:9 ratio displays on the MacBooks and MacBook Pros first.
It seems as if the MBAs have gone even longer without being updated than the MBs and MBPs? They are all bound for an update soon! I hope.
Girl from YuGiOh eh? I've never watched it, but I know the show. I'm not going to get my hopes up at all next week and not expect any updates, and then may be they might just happen? I wish Tuesday wasn't the only day for releases. I'm contemplating whether to get my new ipod now or wait till I order the computer.
Yes, for more than half a year now.
Why not update all three of them in one day?
That would make so many people happy.
i think it's a blessing it's only tuesdays we get all excited and then wake up in the middle of the night to be disappointed... again.
can you imagine doing that every night?!![]()
God we are such fanboys lol.
Not really, we just have a passion for the tech we love.
