MacBook Shipping Times

I think the moral of the story is to hang fire and wait. It seems that a delay in ordering over a few hours has contributed towards some having to wait longer at the airport - but it seems that TNT's tracker isnt always correct. Some lucky ones could be in for an early suprise!

Got mine this morning. Been playing with it for a while now and everything seems to be ok! It's so quiet and doesn't seem any hotter than any other laptop i've ever used. Plus it's pretty fast!

However, when I drag a window around the screen there is quite noticeable ghosting, like a trail behind it. It seems like the display response time is quite low compared to my G5. Is this normal and to be expected? Anyone else noticed this?

yeehpeeh! K+N updated my tracking yet once again... and they are claiming that their truck has arrived at the final destination (TNT - I guess) but there is no info wether they have actually handed the macbook over to TNT... And still there is no tracking available at TNT's homepage...!!

Sorry for posting yet more shipping info, but could really do with an informed guess at when my new Macbook will arrive.

Ordered evening of 17th. 1.8Ghz + Warranty. Originally said delivery should be 25/26th.

The ape tracker says:

The Apple tracking website keeps jumping between 1st June and 31st May, but was very much hoping to get it tomorrow or fri/sat.

The TNT link isn't working (yet?)

Any advice would be great.

Mine is very similar, and above all else I'm hoping it will arrive before the weekend - Monday is a Bank Holiday in the UK. How bad would that be to waste the whole holiday weekend refreshing the tracking details!!!!!

It would seem from the last line that they must enter the details manually!!!! This explains a lot!

Yeah, I saw that a little while ago. Guess it will change soon. I tried the Flextronics tracking that someone linked to earlier in the thread, and it says it's been handed over to TNT 🙂

Don't think it means anything. Mine has gone back to the original date of 31st of May as ETA, but it has definitely been handed over to TNT. Not all details are accurate in these trackings... I guess they just used the original data for the last event or something.

IT IS SHIPPED!!
Original estimated shipping date was 2 Jun, delivery was 7 Jun (ordered on 21 May)
But it was shipped today (24 May) and estimated delivery is 29 May!

My interpretation of this is that Flextronics received the shipment today, added the second item and passed it on to TNT at 14:13. Hope that helps 🙂 I find it strangely comforting that something happens with my package and that I am able to follow it on the web... Now if only it would show up on the TNT tracker!

Which is really not helpful.

I first tried it when my apecode tracking said "booking slot obtained", and then I only had two pages basically saying that the job was "created". After the apecode tracker was udated to "truck at final destination" I got the third page, which was updated with the TNT info a few minutes later. I did not try the Flextronic tracker earlier, so I don't know when it becomes valid.

For those of you in the same situation as me, (probably know who you are) I just spoke to TNT (and had a good go at them as to why my MB has been sitting in china for 3 days) and they assured me my MB is in transit to Europe right now and should arrive at Arnham pretty soon, the TNT staff assured me of this even though my tracker has not updated, it should do soon....

So this probably applies to most people who ordered last week but there MB hasnt left Pudong Airport.....

With a bit of luck we may have the MB's by Friday😀 ,
