I'm in the same situation pretty much exactly I am going to try and call TNT again this morning but I can't be bothered as they are so useless and just tell me it should be with me by the 30th.....

According to the flight plans there are flights to Europe on Monday (the one we missed) and again on wedndesday (today) so with a bit of luck ours should be getting on there way to Europe today, from there I dont know how long they'll take but I'm guessing I'll get mine next Tuesday,

Mine's 'out for delivery', so i guess i now have a long wait sat at home!

Its funny how we can't wait for TNT to post the words "out for delivery" on their tracking page, but we are then upset that we have to sit and wait at home for the agonizing hours before the delivery actually occurs.

Now Apple could alleviate this problem to a large extent by allowing us to upgrade our method of shipment (as they do in the US). If we could pay extra for 2-3 day delivery (something fully supported by TNT), this would allow us to remove a lot of the waiting and decide the window in which TNT can deliver (including a slot between 6pm-9pm, so we can go to work and don't have to worry about missing the delivery). Who wouldn't want to have this option for an extra €20-30???

You're right on that one! I just checked with the lovely people at TNT who cant tell me any more than its expected on the 30th. No suprise there.

I wonder why there is such a delay with some MB's and not others?

If it's any help, the TNT folks don't seem to be very forthcoming unless you know something that don't expect you to... I was told that they didn't know any more than the 30th was the estimated delivery date. When I told them that the web tracker said it was sitting in a warehouse not far from my house, they were slightly more helpful and allowed me to arrange to collect it myself.

I'm guessing the estimated delivery date is a conservative estimate and it's likely to arrive before that date but they don't want to get anyone's hopes up...

When i phoned and mentioned it was in Northampton, the guy at TNT insisted 'Consignment Received At Transit Point' doesn't actually mean it's arrived there. So i guess you got luckier than i did with the person you spoke to

Seems mine has caught up with yours! From looking at everyone else, it seems like there's three days between it being shipped and recieved in Europe. I would just like my first Mac to arrive NOW please

After using this macbook for a while I have to say it's an excellent laptop. However, coming from using 3 powerbooks in the last 3 years, I have to say the build quality and the looks aint as sexy as the powerbook. So while in terms of perfomance the gap between the consumer notebook and the pro notebook has narrowed tremendously there is still a difference when it comes to quality and the general feel. But from what little time I have used it this macbook is a great system. Apple will sell truckloads of the Macbooks especially since they didn't overprice them. And whine? What whine?!!?! Seriously, this thing is more silent than my Cube. Lol...

Mine and my colleague's just arrived safely in Cambridge.

I now have to sit with it by my desk until the end of the day when I'll have to walk home with it under my arm - the bag I brought is slightly too small to hold it ...

So, ordered a couple of hours after they were announced on 16th May, delivered 24th May. Not too bad I guess, but it's a shame we have to wait maybe 4 days longer than many who ordered at the same time in the US.

Well, its here!

After an initial hiccup with my wireless, where the thing was really slow (modem speeds) despite having good strength, I have now fixed that and Its going great.

No hotter than the iBook 500 I've been using for years, and build quality is much higher apart from one tiny piece in the top right of the screen surround, where the plastic seems lose and will "creak" if you press on that one spot.

Overall very solid though, less plasticy than the ibook, feels solid.

Speed is good, Screen is awesome. I was always wary about glossy screens on PC's cause of the glare, but to be honest, you cant see an LCD without the glossy screen in the sunlight anyway. Glare... yes, but at least you can see it in the first place.

Yeah - I bought iWorks which may have caused a "merging" delay...

Unless you're unfortunate enough to get a lemon... you're going to love this machine and OS X! Congrats on your first Mac!
