I'm really pissed off that Apple use such slow delivery services. Fair enough, offer free economy delivery (being fully warned BEFORE checkout how damned long it's going to take) or the option of a premium for fast delivery.
My Apple tracking page has finally updated for the first time since dispatch, and mine too says 'Flex Postal & Hub UK'. I also got a response to my email to Apple Store I sent yesterday. They said my Macbook is on schedule to by delivered on Monday 29th by Lynx (a UPS company). I responded asking whether they really do deliver on Bank Holidays...
I'm so disappointed they're not using TNT - our local depot is about 5 miles away, and is open 24 hours a day. I was hoping that if it didn't get there until the weekend I could pop along to collect it rather than wait until next Tuesday.
I think this is the last time I will order from the Apple Store. I would have bought my Macbook from John Lewis this time, but I know they are slow beyond ridiculous at getting in new products (or even being aware they exist).
Oh, and one more thing. My Apple tracking page now says estimated delivery 24th May 2006 (subject to change).
The final joke that I've just discovered, is that the Flextronics tracker doesn't work on Safari or Firefox. You have to use some old security lacking browser like Internet Explorer to get it working. The link posted on page 24 of this discussion works in Internet Explorer. I could not understand why other people were finding it useful. Do you really use some ****** old browser? Isn't that considered a security risk?
