woooooo it came today ))) seems PERFECT so far even on 512mb ram.. Not hot, very very quiet and just great! Glad to finally be a mac user.

i don't get what's happening with my delivery. first off nothing is being tracked by apecode; all i get on the kuehne and nagel site is: "Error: Delivery Note "80********" is unknown! (0104)" (my stars).
then the 80... number links me to the tnt tracking which says:
"02 Jun 2006 12:00 Pudong International Airport Delayed Export Due To Customs Inspection
01 Jun 2006 21:37 Suzhou Shipped From Originating Depot
01 Jun 2006 10:44 Suzhou Consignment Received At Transit Point"

anyone else have this before? isn't the shipment normally tracked by kuehne and nagel first as they normally ship it to the airport? is this normal?

well, with my shipment, i have totally bypassed TNT, going from K and N straight to Flexpostal and Hub UK, i wouldnt worry at all, if the TNT tracker is picking it up, then at least its with them and its making its way towards you, even if it may be slow as everyone seems to agree that TNT is!

Brand new from an eBay store. I'm in the same boat as you. it will be my first mac, I can't wait to ditch windows.

My expected date of arrival is Monday 5th June.

did you order it from an american store then? the apple store?

It's here!

My Macbook just arrived! I called TNT yesterday and they said they have the Macbook, but Apple instructed them to deliver next Tuesday. This morning I checked the TNT tracker and it told me that it's on the truck for local delivery!

It whines and moos. The battery has scratches as if it's been used. It does get warm and very noisy when I put it under load (e.g. import 1200 photos to iPhoto). I couldn't do that during a lecture, the turbine noise is really embarassing.

I guess I'll test this thing for a few days until it goes back for a refund and switch back to Linux on a Thinkpad. I cannot concentrate on any work when there's a loud whine and moo.

Nice try, Apple, but it has too many flaws.

Flextronics Tracking

For those who want to see where their MB's are, that have them being sent via Flex postal and Hub UK, they can track em' at

the tracking reference is the 80******** number, and in the customer reference part put "APP"

i hope that may shed some light on where some of our MB's are, although the info isnt really very comprehensive on this tracker! (at least from what im getting).

still claiming ETA to be 1st of june, although thats probably when it meets up with office software, booo!

EDIT: apple status has changed giving me a carrier and acrrier ref. the carrier is flex postal and Hub UK, anyone know anything about these guys? i have tracked the item on flextronics page, and where it previously said 1 item, it now says 2, so i suppose that means my items have finally met! i still dont know where they are. does anyone know if flex postal are UK only, or international?

I would guess that flex postal are a part of the flextronics empire. If they have it already and have merged your orders and you're getting it delivered to your home, I should think that there's a chance it could appear tomorrow. (I think mine is probably still on the continent and I guess it might not even move until Monday )

Just to add, that site only seems to work with Internet Explorer (it doesn't work with Safari or with Firefox on a Windows machine or a Mac). Actually, it's a bit dodgy with IE on a Mac (but will give you the info).

So it's Monday then. The TNT tracker popped up this morning in Turku (300km away) but in over 8 hours they failed to bring the package to me so I guess they'll bring it on Monday. Which is ironic, because early monday morning I'm leaving for Turku and I have a strong gut feeling the MB will arrive about 15 minutes after my train has left. Well, at least it will be waiting for me when I get back. Or so I hope...

i have a delivery date for monday now, the apple site tells me my macbook is with UPS, and so i rang UPS, gave them my tracking number, and it will be delivered (hopefully in perfect condition), between 9 and 5, at least its finally arriving! WOOT!!!
