MacBook Shipping Times

Update on my order: TNT have this morning told me that my Macbook is in Amsterdam for some reason. It has to go from there to Arnhem, and will then proceed by the road network :confused: to Belfast.

I've lodged a formal complaint with both TNT and Apple. This hardly constitutes "express" delivery. My Macbook left Suzhou on 30 May, it was stuck in Pudong until yesterday, and now has to wind its way through mainland Europe by road!

None of this, of course, appears on the web tracker, which indicates that the Macbook is actually in Pudong :rolleyes:

All this after TNT told me yesterday that it was "out for delivery"!

Hey Flanline, so what is your ETA for the MacBook? Friday?

Is it normal for it to proceed by road from Arnhem?

They don't know! They've told me that it "might" be Thursday or Friday.

It's definitely not normal for it to come by road from Arnhem. My brother's MacBook flew from Pudong to Arnhem to Belfast. He got his in half the time it will take mine. :mad:
 
More delay at Pudong Airport

I spoke to an Apple Store employee just now, and she said that there are indeed technical problems at Pudong Airport, and delivery is delayed by (maybe) a day or two, counting only working days. She couldn't tell me what the nature of the technical difficulties was. When I pointed out to her that the Apple Store Shipment Status page still contained an estimated delivery date of 9 June, she said it should really read 12 or 13 June. She could not explain why the page is not up to date.

Well. Bummer.

Nope no Applecare for me, have you tried using your other number, 2xxxx.... number on the TNT site?

I take this as meaning that the Arnhem hub is closed therefore they cannot accept the order? It can't be anything to do with me since it has to get to Scotland first! :p

I dunno maybe it's just an error?

Two delays now, I can't help but laugh.
 
I got the 'Holiday' message too, so I called the Apple Store again. They admitted that there's something wrong with the status reports.

'Where is the shipment now, exactly?' I asked. They said it was in the Netherlands, in Arhem, 50 km from where I live. And that it would be delivered monday or tuesday next week. I asked why they would need five days to cover such a short distance, and then they finally said they really didn't know what was going on. But they would contact TNT to tell them that I am not on holiday.

Odd is the word.

I don't have a number beginning 2xxxx...

I didn't explain myself fully: If you order an accessory (DVI adapter, modem, software, applecare) with the MacBook you cannot track the order until they merge in Europe.

Surely that's them just covering themselves? I find it hard to believe that you won't receive it in the next couple of days.

As much as I love Apple's products...

...I'm a little dissapointed with the fact that my estimated delivery date is the 15th of June, 27 days after I ordered the MacBook itself. I doubt that this sort of service is standard in the industry somehow.

TNT for us Europeans.


Their international tracking page is proving very hard to get to right now though, is that just on my end?
 
now, according to animal crackers mine comes on the 8th or on the 12th.

TNT says: "06 Jun 2006 18:24 Arnhem Hub Sendung Wurde Weitergeleitet"; which should mean that it left Arnhem and again according to animal crackers the 8th is a good bet, as to my location it should be around 800-1000 km. The 12th would mean it takes 7 days to ship it ~1000km or 143km per day.

but, just ignore me. i´m bored, i´ve got a cold and outside it got only 11°C. June, 6th 2006: 11°C (max. 14°C). oh and i ordered on May 31st at around 22:15 .

happy waiting alltogether.
