I know right! Was planning on orderin one of these tomorrow and just thought i'd check before I shut down for the night and waala.

And to the guy that took the screenshot good job. Got a feeling it's gonna disappear or something.

Nothing is showing yet in the US store. You can get to the page but the Macbook picture doesn't load.

Macbook Pro base model doesn't really deserve it's 'Pro' name anymore imo

I *think* MacBooks were $NZ1699 before...

(Well at least two Apple resellers have them at that price)

No think it may have gone up $50. (In NZ, possibly).

2.4GHz MacBook now in Australian Apple Store.

    Shows 10 hour battery life.

Price has dropped from A$1299 to A$1249.

    That's pretty damned good.

WTF in the education store it's showing $949 in US right now. That means they bumped it back up $50 for students but still the same for everyone else.

It has appeared in the UK store, with a £50 price increase (like the recent MBP update). Probably due to the parlous state of the £ at the moment.

The only good thing about this update is the fact that the website didn't go down for 2 hours like it normally does. Well done Apple.

Now hurry up and update the desktop line please.

Wonder if the quiet roll out is because of that leak at the weekend. They stole Steve's thunder so we don't get the store going down!

Or are they doing a normal update and someone forgot the post-it note screen.

At one point the MacBook was a really interesting machine. I have one from when it was seen as being versatile but importantly CHEAP and it had more I/O (Firewire, audio in). Please btw don't tell me Firewire is a Pro feature when the Mac Mini has FW800.

Now? I was in the Apple Store yesterday and it's so glossy (off putting) and suffering from the expandability the older models have over it, not to mention being £200 more expensive.

Yawn fest indeed, what happened to making the best product possible?
