If you are smart enough you can run make your computer do anything. So if you are smart enough to fix any arrising problems go for it. Vista runs without osx... but i cant say how well or what drawbacks you'd have.

It is about simply doing it

This is not about intelligence, this is about spending time doing something and then talking about things you've done. My macbook ran Xp and now Vista with no problem.

I sucessfully formated my MacBook Pro and erased my Mac partition
all I got running on my MacBook Pro is Windows

So it can be done

You still need Boot Camp drivers
but use Disk utility to erase the hard drive
then restart with your Windows disc in
and install Windows when it wants you to format the hd
just erase the whole drive as FAT32 but when you install windows
Have windows format it as NTFS
then install Windows
once that is done, WALLa no more MacOS X
just Windows 7

NOTE: This may void your warrenty with Apple
I don't care on my computers because I am going to replace them with Windows machines eventually.

I don’t understand why for a simple question I got around 50 replies and only one of them actually answered my question, if you don’t know what you are talking why waste time tipping useless things, like "you can get a dell for 700", yes I can but that dell its 14" and its like twice the size of the macbook, the only close competitor, actually better, its the Sony SZ series 13" but the cheapest one is 1300uk with 1.83ghz, as for IBM something similar its 1700uk. Plus with the macbook I can get applecare for 50uk instead of 300uk because I am a student.

Anyway thanks izibo for the valuable information. I really liked the answers from dpaanlka "i know everything, you are dumb, this can not be done"

So izibo can I also have linux, because I really need both OS. If yes then I really need the info.

Thanks.

Certainly you can run windows only on the macbook but the firmware that apple provides is kinda crappy ( old video card firmware, over sensitive touchpad etc etc... )

One of my macs is set up with the Boot Camp partition as start disk and the Mac partition is shrunk to 40 GB. Whenever I turn it on it goes directly to Windows so for all intents and purposes, it runs like a pure Windows machine.

Why would anyone want to get rid of the OS X install altogether, it doesn't bother. It just uses up some HDD space, but with the size of hard disks these days it hardly matters at all.

How can it void your warranty? Windows is software, it will not harm the Mac you installed it on, except battery life and your sanity.

But you won't answer anyway, will you? You just registered to resurrect an old thread to troll with your comment, didn't you?

Btw, even though you will not see this anyway*, it is spelled voilà, not walla or WALLa, and I haven't had French at school or at any time after. How come voilà is turned into walla anyway? It isn't even the same pronunciation.

* the nature of thread resurrectors prohibits them from returning to their grave-digging sites.
