Oh ye of little faith

Come on you lot be positive. Apple might keep you waiting but they deliver some very good products in tune with what the market wants.

Something must happen soon because MB and MBPs appear to be out of stock around the world (certainly there are not any around here) and Apple are too smart to allow that situation for long. Note: it is both MBs and MBPs that are out of stock.

It makes sense that the MB and MBPs will be merged into one rationalised range. The Macbook Air becomes the "lightweight" machine (have we unknowingly already got the MB replacement?). Apple are bound to always produce a high end very powerful laptop so the top of the range MPB will have to be replaced. It is well overdue. Also Apple have to get the Penryn chip out soon.

It may be that tomorrow (in fact here it is already Tuesday) we will see three new MacBooks 13", 15" 17" and it may even be a whole new look. I hadn't thought so before, I thought we would get a chip upgrade with a major revision later in the year. The ongoing delay combined with the release of a "whole new look" Macbook Air makes me change my mind, we may be on the verge of something exciting.

Have faith, Jobs will get the job done!

My friend had a G5 cpu in a Powerbook G4 case with a custom motherboard. He left it on too long one day and it melted.

My friend did the same thing! But he has a walk-in freezer that he installed in the house for the purpose of using his G5 PB, and it's the only place he can turn it on. Sometimes he takes it with him to restaurants, and he's always asking them if they have a big freezer he can get in to check e-mail. He says it keeps him warm when he gets cold.

i there any chance , in an unprecedented move, apple has secretly made a deal to be releasing the penryn on a montavina chipset this early? perhaps due to apple's new partnership, intel would have had to be totally secret about this.

hahha if thats not the most hopeful thought ever, im not sure what is.

Oh yes, they have a 'Rampaging Mob' clause. As long as you don't light up your flaming torches on the plane and promise not to lynch any of the flight attendants they're fine with it.

In fact, I believe that the air marshals are going to be re-armed with a 9mm pitchfork any day now. ;)

I'll keep that in mind next time I have to become part of a "rampaging mob" in Sydney. Do animals Koala-fy for this clause too? :D

Since there are a quasi-official announcement of Centrino 2 on June in Taiwan,
I really doubt the new Apple-Intel partnership would allowed such an early release of Centrino 2 on MB or MBP to happen

As this is would be a major upgrade (in term of marketing and brain-washing)
I think Apple should one of the early birds that release MB and MBP with Centrino 2 in June or July

oh well, as long as something comes out with a pricetag reflective of february / march 2008 , Im a happy camper.

to be honest if it is just a macBOOK update, i'd probably just get that, the power of those really aint that bad, if they just beef up the display resolution a bit ill be thrilled

Though I would really like to see a dedicated GPU in new macbook,

but the Intel X4500 are still in the pocket of Apple to play the card.

I wonder is it that hard to accommodate a dedicated GPU in a Macbook in its next upgrade?

Hang on a sec if anything will be released, would it be released in the UK first as UK hits the morning before America does? Or would the UK store not release anything (despite UK time) until its released in USA first??

Another point which may require added emphasis is the dude who commented that when visiting the USA store, he hits the Buy now for a MB/Pro and is directed to UK site.. I suggest that somebody try this with MBA buy now button - doubt it'll redirect to UK. if it doesnt its more likely that they wont be released

OR it could be the person who went to USA site was IN THE UK ON AN A UK NET CONNECTION.

I am currently unable to second anything as I am away in Kenya and the internet is very slow here.... Unless i use my iPhone EDGE roaming..

I doubt it would be hard. Just cheap to put in the X3100, or something like it. They perform well in terms of the interface. It's a good value for Apple's money, I would think, and makes the MacBook cheaper for us. It is too bad, though, because it would be fun to have a 13" gaming machine.

I guess this one is right, but haven't seen any information regarding the MBP yet.. I'm still waiting for accurate info about the Pro.

Hurray, my first post in this forum :D

......

Blood curdling screams will resound across my part of Sydney. I might just drive out to the airport, buy a ticket, sit on a United/Qantas plane for 14 hours to get to LA, rent a car, drive up to Cupertino and personally join the rampaging mob.

Do international participants have to bring their own pitchforks? ;)

It's going to be a bugger getting them on the plane. Perhaps we can acquire them locally.

Well it's Tuesday here now in the UK and a beautiful day. Let's see what happens next!

The site is, indeed, down. I still won't buy a laptop until they've got batteries that last 100 hours and hard drives that don't burn out.

You know we haven't actually worked out what we are going to do if Apple do bring out the laptop of our dreams today. I mean other than rush out and buy it obviously.
There should be official MacRumors parties across the globe! No entry without a new MacBook Pro. :D

OK, so if the new line of MBP's is released in a few hours, any thoughts on weather it will be available in stores today itself?

ok so now we know german and swedish stores are selling new macbooks, doesnt that mean theres no MBP today as theyd be selling them right now too

i hate 2 say it but our worst nightmare is coming true

updated macbook, no new MBP....

and we all said that would never happen, coz its crazy...

apple kicks us in the balls again
