my apple history:
1. bought the iphone in september after a long thought process for$ 599.the next day it was dropped to $399
2. Sold that iphone to my sister, because is was all scratched up, and i had a bunch apple cards to get rid of, so i gave her my old and bought a new one with the gift cards.....next day the 16gb was released.
3. And thursday , i bought a new Macbook Pro 2.4 ghz off ebay, so i am willing to bet that mine will be delivered tomorrow around the same time the Updated version is released. i will almost guarantee it.
If they release MacBooks tomorrow this whole place is going to be like Chris Farley when they switched his coffee with Folger's Crystals.
LOL MR!!! Smart move putting this on Page 2 for now. There are 3 scenarios in which this forum will be a bloodbath tomorrow.
1. Nothing happens tomorrow.
2. Macbooks not MBPs
3. MBPs come out but don't include 'something' like a free trip around the world.
And watch for any news/rumor posted till the new MBPs come out, receive WAY more negative ratings simply out of spite.
It may seem like a "cover-your-ass" but there's a reason the original story ("MacBook Pros on Tuesday") was rewritten to "New Apple Products on Tuesday".
This is that reason. Besides, predicting MacBook updates is so not a cover-your-ass story, as it's an entirely illogical update. It makes no sense. If I wanted to cover-my-ass and pick another likely possibility, MacBook updates would be at the bottom of the list.

MariniPacioso said:Since we have now 3 lines of Apple laptops (MB, MBP and Air), Apple is maybe going to dismiss the MBP series (or the MP one...), so that we'll have only two lines, just like it was until January. They maybe want to 'merge' MB and MBP, in order to push non-pro users to buy the Air.
Any possibility they are going to combine the lines (MB AND MBP) and leave the MBA as the new macbook and have a new line, not called pro which is the high end laptop?
I agree with these two posts. It is inevitable that plastic will be replaced by aluminium (because Apples focus on being greener), therefore, there will most likely be an aluminium Macbook soon. If there is an update to the Macbook this week, with improved speeds, multi-touch, LED screen, maybe backlit keyboard, AND aluminium case, then tell me: why wouldnt this new Macbook then be the new 13" Macbook Pro? Didnt Apple originally want all the 12" Powerbook users to upgrade to the existing Macbook (but many didnt because the Macbook was plastic and perceived as a consumer range product)?
The features and power of the Macbook and Macbook Pro range are very close, even closer if MB gets updated this week, (with just the plactic casing being the obvious difference), so I could easily see Apple combining the new aluminium Macbook with the Macbook Pro range, and dropping the price of the Macbook Air in the near-future to become the new consumer laptop.
My prediction is that there will be just two laptop ranges. One for the consumer that is light, stylist, short on features but ideal to use in conjuction with iTunes movie downloads and connecting to their iPods (Macbook Air). One for users who need more power with 13", 15" and 17" screens (all aluminium, with graphic chips, faster processors, etc). A clean, clear and simple range. Would Apple not go in this marketing direction?
So for all those waiting for a new MBP, quit moaning if this week sees a new Macbook instead of a MBP. Most likely it will be aluminum which would mean: it is a new MBP!
Yay! Welcome a new baby to the family guys!![]()
