According to Appleinsider.....

All models Dual Core, built in iSight, Mag Safe - some kind of new magnetic latch.

I guess we can kiss goodbye to the £699 entry price. :(

Alright, in that case, they'll be 1.67Ghz and 1.83Ghz.

That would make sense. Then you've got a Better 1.83Ghz (MBP), and then continuing upward in the MacBook Pro's.

I haven't read all posts, but I am crying (almost, at least) with joy
after months of waiting, things are finally starting to look good, plus

My birthday present released on my birthday !!!

Integrated Graphics

To clarify this, in case the GP was asking a slightly different question, my understanding is that the MBP and iMac do, indeed, have Intel Integrated Graphics on the motherboard, but it isn't enabled.

Yes I believe this is the case. When I run CPU-Z (when booted under Windows) it tells me that my Intel iMac has an integrated graphics chip present on the motherboard although, of course, it is not being used.

yay. i'm excited.
and to the person above saying AI didn't say anything about May 9th, at the very end they do say of a "possibility of a press conference"

...since when did Apple have press conferences though?

I'm happy if it's beofre May 12th (confirmation)

Are these specs realistic?

$1099:
1.67 GHz Core Solo
512 MB RAM (up to 2 gigs)
60 GB HDD, 5.400 rpm. (up to 120)
Intel GMA/950 64 MB DDR
13.3", 1280x800
iSight, FrontRow and MagSafe
Backlit keyboard

$1399:
1.67 GHz Core Duo (BTO 1.83 GHz)
512 MB RAM (up to 2 gigs)
80 GB HDD, 5.400 rpm. (up to 120)
Ati X1400 64 MB DDR
13.3", 1280x800
iSight, FrontRow and MagSafe
Backlit keyboard

I think they will be 2.8 cm. The MBP's are 2.54 cm, the iBooks are 3.42 and the 12" PB is 3.0, so i think it is realistic with 2.8 (same thickness as 15" PB)

Sure would be nice to see them make this standard...

For an extra hundred or two hundred, maybe...

...remember, they have to differentiate their product lines somehow. All these predictions seem overambitious!

This is definitely reasonable; without, however, the backlit keyboard. I'm not sure if they would integrate that into their regular line (although it is a really cool feature!) One thing, though - my iBook's keyboard is crap compared to my MacBook Pros. Hopefully they do a tremendous upgrade to the keyboard...its needed.

...

saying it gets released on tuesday,

how long before they ship, and we actually have these things in our laps.

just seeing the picture of em might get me by a few more days, but i wont be satisfied untill i can use it.

YES. Give me a 1.83Ghz/2GB Ram/120GB Hard Drive MacBook and i'll be happy.

That would probably cost around $1800, with the educational discount, which is just about my budget. PLEASE let it be so!!!

It is not a new product they are receiving..It's window displays.
Anyway.

Don't count on it. Here is something that proves, none of these rumor sites have a clue... quoted from this site.
...

AppleInsider predicted Intel iBooks in April-May '06, back in November. The same rumor correctly predicted the MacBookPro and intel iMac at MWSF, so this has some credibility. TS has been all over the place on the MacBook.
So AI still has a chance to be "right all along." :)

Agreed. Apple has always done a great job of matching features and price. And the additional features you want are in the next higher product and can be had for just a few dollars more. :)

Starting on page 12. Man I am SLOW to the threads this week. ;)

Backlit Keyboard Adds Heat so it's not necessarily a good idea for such a small computer unless they figure out how to have extra good ventilation.
