Hi, the installer stick is not booting with the original sierra installer from apple. Only with the sierra installer from your mega download link. Thats what I do not like. The sierra installer should be working with the original apple file. Otherwise it could be patched from anybody and thats always a big risk. Waiting for your answer.
When did you download your copy from the App Store? It has to be a 10.12.4 installer app to work with the latest version of the tool. The one available from MEGA that I linked is just a copy I downloaded from the App Store myself about 4 days ago.

Thanks for the answer. I tried the download from febr this year and also from march. Then the stick starts booting, but stops after time. The version from the installer app in information says 12.4.06 for example. I do not have the dmg file.
Can I verify your file? I did not see a checksum file from apple....
thanks for your time... and your nice work
Norbertus

Your copy worked well for me...What i noticed, though, is that once 10.12.4 is installed i cant go back to 10.12...Uad stick just won't load...
Also, any suggestions for a WiFi card to replace the one in my MacBook Pro mid 2009, 5,3? Even though the native card is supposed to be supported it keeps dropping the WiFi and i have to reboot, constantly...I tried a usb dongle and that workef well for a few days, then, it, too, drops WiFi forcing a reboot....What a headache?!
Nevertheless, your patch has been AWESOME! Thank you...

You can't replace the WiFi card in that MacBook. It's fully supported in Sierra anyways, so it's more than likely an issue with your network.

Hallo, now I was able to install sierra with the new apple download. Everything works. Thanks very much for the exellent work.

Hello,

Just a question : How to uninstall the application and return to the pre-installation state?
Thank you

Edit 2 : Just read the Notes but the uninstall process doesn't work. I still have the option for Night shift in monitors.

So the question still need an answer ! How to revert back ?
Thank you

You can just copy it from the Resources folder of the latest macOS Sierra Patcher... Just right click on the Sierra Patcher App, click "Show Package Contents", go to Contents, Resources, and copy the macOS Post Install app to /Applications/Utilities of your patched Sierra USB drive.
So, I have to do a bit of testing but I think I owe @dosdude1 an apology. I –think– that the USB stick I was TRYING to find the place to put the Post Install app onto was a 10.12 installer made with Disk Maker X, rather than one made with his patcher tool. And… well… there IS NO /Applications/Utilities on those. (I'm assuming, since there certainly wasn't on the stick I was looking at, and know I used to install OS X on a few "supported" Macs.)

Ah, yeah I believe DiskMaker X uses a different method to create the installer drive (using the app's included "createinstallmedia" utility), which keeps all that stored in BaseSystem.dmg, and therefore uneditable.

Hello again,
when everything is working fine, is ist ok now to csrutil enable again? Will that give problems with apple updates?
Thanks in advance.

All Good!:D

Hey, I'm considering update to 10.12.5, are you using Night Shift Patcher? If so, can you tell me if it still works with this new update? Thanks!

The "Night Shift Patcher" replaces on file in the stock Apple 10.12.4 CoreBrightness.framework to the patched version, perhaps if Apple changed CoreBrightness.framework between 10.12.4 and 10.12.5 maybe the patcher makes you Display.prefpane to non functional. But, you can patch the 10.12.5 version of the CoreBrightness.framework by hand: https://pikeralpha.wordpress.com/2017/01/30/4398/.

Good day Friends !

Since i first (ever) tried install OS/macOS on unsupported system and the result is absolutely fantastic (again, thanks to dusdude1 and "The Team"), maybe i try install Sierra also to another computer. Regarding to informations here, i like to ask or receive confirmation about two things :

- Is now the dosdude1 patcher compatible with 10.12.4 installer ? (i read that the patcher doesnt work good with this installer, but i personally always prefer to installing as upgrading)

- The second question is about night shift enabler. I saw, there is also patcher for this option. The earlier/first option was to change some sequences of "display" files to set the machine ID to another and enabling Night Shift. Now is patcher done = is this patcher doing also the same thing ? I ask just because dosdudes patcher makes a nice "original" computer ID and all works flawless, as i mentioned upper. I dont want to make some mistakes or mix-up something. I think, this patcher is "patching" absolutely different things-parts, and the display patch has nothing to do with system ID, but i wait for confirmation better.

Thank you very much !

Ronnie

Yes, version 4.2.6 and 4.2.7 of my patch have 10.12.4 installer support (and drop support for older installer apps). The Night Shift Patch simply adds the unsupported hardware IDs to the CoreBrightness binary, and it is the only file modified with that patch.

Yep, that's the latest version, which is not yet compatible. Download the 12.0.57 copy using the MEGA link on my webpage.
Sorry, where is the MEGA link on your OS download page? The Sierra installer on your site's download page there is dated 16 September.

I created the USB key on a supported system (MacBook Pro late 2011), then installed onto an external SSD, rebooting back to the patch USB key and patching the OS for 2008 Mac Pro. I plugged the drive into the 2008 MacPro and rebooted, and after initial start both of my screens go black (External SSD seems to continue being accessed). Tried to reboot from USB key (could do so) and ran patcher again, same thing. Zapped PRAM and tried again, same thing. Machine has no fans running but appears to be on.
Modifications to hardware: extra USB 2.0 card, upgraded 5770 video card, replacement wifi/BT card with handoff support, 1 TB PCI based excelsior SSD (not installing on it). Any idea what may be the issue or how to diagnose?

Is your 5770 a stock Apple card or flashed with EFI firmware?

You'll want to check your DNS and make sure that you're connected to the internet, then resync again for updates.

Hi everybody, anyone know how to restore the recovery partition? today i did a reset of the PRAM and now every time i start the mac i see a pop up saying that SIP is enabled. But i can't access the recovery partition (to disable SIP) though i see it in the terminal with diskutil list.
Thanks for any response

You need to apply the recovery partition patch in the post-install tool with your Sierra Patched USB drive. You can also disable SIP from Terminal in there.
