Mid 2011 Mini. I7. HD3000 video. Went from 12.4 and 0.4.6 to 12.5 final and 0.4.9. Seems the video behavior is sluggish now. Only changes I have ever made on this machine in the OCLP have been to Show BootPicker set to N. First time using the GUI OCLP. Also noticed under Beta Blur was checked, unchecked, rebuilt and installed. Same. Curious if anyone with similar hardware has noticed anything. Also, to note, seems like the whole machine is sluggish after installing post install patched. Remove them and I lose video acceleration but the speed is back to normal......

Seems quite the opposite of what it should be. HD3000 only or also Nvidia dGPU?
Also: Settings for non-metal like Beta Blur do not need rebuild, but instead logout an in again to take effect.

Totally the opposite! As soon as the patches are applied, sluggish with 0.4.9 and 12.5. No dGPU on the Mini Server, just HD3000.

Same thought. I did try just logging out and logging in, no change, so I rebuilt, also no change.

Ein Schritt vor und zwei Schritte zurück.

iMac 13,1.
The external HDD connected via USB is still on 12.5 (
21G72). OCLP has been updated to 0.4.9 without the Post Install Root Patch. A software update was also run under Catalina, to install any possible firmware changes. The iPad Pro is now running iPadOS 15.6.

In post 6819, I reported that Sidecar was now working over Bluetooth/WiFi and USB. Now it does not work with either connection.

The following error messages are generated.

The device timed out.
A miscellaneous error occurred (-401).
The device was disconnected.

The macOS release is unchanged since 16.7.22. Whether the new problem is caused by OCLP 0.4.9 or the iPadOS update is not clear.

Can someone please confirm that AMD GCN v1-3 GPUs work with Monterey 12.5?
( I am specifically interested in the m5100). Many thanks.

Yes, of course! BT/wifi updated in both Mac Pro 5,1 and Macbook Pro 8,3. I think it´s a well spent money to get all the feautures. (Handoff, unlock bu¡y Appla Watch, etc etc). Also, in Macbook Pro 8,3 discrete GPU disabled.

Hi @trifero! How are you?

How did you updated USB ports? Some OWC Allegro card on Mac Pro or Thunderbolt? I saw some PCI Express Cards people can use in MacBook Pro 8,3.

Best regards!

FirePro M4000 and FirePro M6100 do work. M5100 will, too. They will also work with future Monterey versions. (Monterey is fully/natively supported on Macs which originally came with those AMD GCN GPUs...)

I have iMac late 2013. I had 12.4 installed with OCLP .45.
Software Update showed 12.5 available so I click to install it. I did not read OCLP notes about Kepler support removed.
Now my screen size cannot be changed and brightness is at max and cannot change. Screen sleep is also not working.
If I cannot go back to 12.4, how can I get the 12.5 re-installed using OCLP .49 to have the basic support and have the computer working without the sluggishness I have since the upgrade?

iMac 14,2 w/ Nvidia GTX 780m using OCLP 4.5 and have same issue as everybody else (Login Loop) after updating to Monterey 12.5. Kicking myself for not having a time machine backup, but in the 8-1/2 years I've had this Mac, never have needed a backup.... until now. Doh!
How can timemashine help? I have backup but rolling back to 12.4 is not possible; right?

I think you need to do these steps.
But I'm not sure and I ask the other MacRumors Nerd forumers for help...

You can first create an USB stick with macOS 12.4 Installer and OCLP 0.4.9 and then use it to install Monterey 12.4 from scratch; but only the System and not your account Data.

In this logic, starting from the USB key, in Recovery Utilities it is necessary to initialize ONLY "Macintosh HD", with Disc Utility and not the entire SSD or the “Macintosh HD - Data”)!

I think maybe this trick can work.
Otherwise you have to initialize the entire SSD (or just the Partition with Monterey if you have other partitions on the disk). Then, when the installer asks you to import from another computer or from a backup, you can indicate the Time Machine backup you want to install.

Let us know, kindly, if my suggestion works, as this feature too may be behind Apple's disk splitting to new Systems…

in the real mac world it is not possible, but we are talking about the mac world not officially supported, where we should not run these systems, so yes, it is possible to do an installation reverting from 12.5 to 12.4 and I will teach the method I used.

Remember micropatcher 0.5.1? We will use it under the USB 12.4 and OpenCore 0.4.5 installer ok?

Have the 12.4 installer and create your boot disk (no matter which method), apply OpenCore 0.4.5 or 0.4.7-0.4.9 to that installer disk.

apply Micropatcher 0.5.1 on that same disk.

the micropatcher has something called a trampoline and it is what allows this feat.

Boot your disk and reinstall the system on the same partition as 12.5 (that's right), because of the micropatcher, you will be able to select the same drive where your current system is, and you can proceed with the installation normally.

Be happy and enjoy your 12.4 system without data or file loss.

MacBook pro 10,1 i7, 8GB, running 0.4.7. Update from 12.4 to 12.5 full upgrade not the differencial one. All is well. No slowdowns, graphical glitches, nothing. Running as well as 12.4
What happens when you maximize Photos app?

Interesting. Have you tried the full screen view in Photos as discussed earlier in this thread if I may ask?
