If you are on a Wi-Fi, then consider moving closer to your modem. Moving the direction of the computer or macbook can also help improve the signal and download speeds. Restarting your internet modem also helps improve the download speeds. Using ethernet cable from your modem to computer is still the best option for experiencing fastest internet speeds. Thanks

macOS 14 Sonoma on Unsupported Macs Thread

Since the 14.1 Final release, I've updated three old Macs to 14.1 using a newly built USB booter/installer created each time using OCLP 1.2n to download the full 14.1 Final install from Apple. Here's a brief summary of each.
1. iMac 12,2 (mid-2011) with K2100m GPU, Wi-Fi/BT4.0 card from 2013 iMac, 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD; very easy install and just let it run from start to finish with no manual intervention by me. Only issue after completing install is no BT but Wi-Fi and Ethernet are working. Expect BT needs some work on powering D- and D+.
2. MacMini 7,1 (2014) with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB Apple SSD; easy install with no intervention by me except at very last restart when progress bar stalled at 30%. Safe rebooted (Shift + Enter) successfully to Desktop and then normal rebooted to complete with no issues; both BT and Wi-Fi working.
3. cMP 3,1 (2008) with RX580 GPU, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD in disk slot 4, 3.1 USB AIC in PCIe x 1 slot, macosx.com Wi-Fi adapter and Wi-Fi/BT 4.0 card from iMac 2014, and DosDude NVMe and APFS hacks to bootrom; difficult install with many restarts and flashing ?-mark folder requiring more than 5 manual power-button restarts but not Safe boot at last stage. Got there in the end but no Wi-Fi/BT. Expect Wi-Fi/BT needs some work on powering D- and D+. May ignore and install Fenvi FV-T919 for BT5.0 and Wi-Fi. Not really necessary b/c use Ethernet for all network access.
This cMP does not soft shutdown (reboots about 30 s later) and does not wake from sleep (after put to sleep manually). Requires using Power button.
Congratulation to Devs for this amazing feat of keeping ancient Macs out of landfill.

idk for sure, but installed the last compatible macOS Big Sur and firmware were updated!
But on Ventura and Sonoma, I forgot, how fast and responsive Big Sur is! ))) and power consumption almost 30% lower according to coconutBattery, so i think, i'll stay on Big Sur for a while )
macOS 14.2Beta via OCLPv.1.1.0 updated atop 14.1 by USB - runs as expected. 
Me two. No obvious issues, install was easy, new KDK downloaded too for the Beta. Late 2014 iMac 15,1

For those on unsupported Mac's with issues of bricking or stuck on startup after Sonoma updates to beta 14.1 (and now 14.2) I suggest watching the video on YouTube posted by Mr Macintosh yesterday with instructions of how to fix. It helped me and has helped many more with this issue. Now I'm back running Sonoma 14.2 on my unsupported 2016 MB Pro with no issues.

make sure you have at least 16 GB available. 14 Won’t cut it.
Sadly for me, I have a MacBook Pro 2014 13' and Big Sur was known for hard brick the IO board beyond repair, I aint touching Big Sur, not even with a stick
A short question, because the more I read, the more I get confused
On my MBP 6,2 I'm running Big Sur at the moment. If I "upgrade" to Sonoma, do the switch between dGPU and iGPU still work, or is this than history? Could I do it with SwitchResX, or equivalents?

i am running 14.1 on iMac 15,1 with no issue except memojis. Whether on login screen, messages, iCloud pref panel,...It makes these apps crashing or freezing.
memojis where actually working very fine with oclp+cventura
on Dortania, I have noticed they are not functional with Intel Ivy-Haswell iGPUs and Nvidia Kepler GPUs
My iMac is Haswell however he is not supposed to use iGPU since he is equipped with AMD R9 dGPU.
I think then that memojis are not supported at all now...

Hi, yesterday i would view a movie from netflix on my mbp 11.3 ocp 1.1 and Sonoma 14.1. The error S7706 comes permanently when play a movie. The preview of it play normally. Delete cookie's and restart's not working.
Maybe it has been discussed recently before with other versions, but since updating to 14.1, Time Machine won't create snapshots. I haven't had any issues with Time Machine, so maybe I was thinking that with this update forcing people to complete it in safe mode etc., something got goofed?

Hi folks, is it the normal situation when using OCLP that the SIP is disabled? I can imagine that it needs to be deactivated to run OCLP but I just want to double check that this is the normal status for OCLP users.

the SIP conf is actually specific with OCLP. you can see it in OCLP settings panel
1) First of all, did you install the latest Catalina Security Updates that they updated the iMac’s Firmware?
2) Do you still have the original Fusion Drive? Or have you replaced the mechanical HD of the Fusion Drive with a good SSD? (Note: on the small internal 128 GB Apple SSD that remains after disconnecting the Fusion Drive I keep Catalina installed)
3) It could be a disk problem, as you hypothesize. In this case you will find out if you reboot with a USB stick in which you created the Catalina Installer. After booting into Recovery mode, therefore, you can start Disk Utility and first make an SOS. Then you will be able to understand if the disk is visible and if it is possible to format it
Just for the records and OCLP-Devs: after some discussions in various forums it seems that it's an OCLP issue that the default login bootscreen wallpaper "Sonoma Horizon" (the vineyard picture) cannot be changed. As confirmed by Sonoma users with supported Macs, they can easily change the wallpaper in the lockscreen settings by checking "user list" instead of "name and password" and after reboot the (last) user's background applies. This also works when FileVault is activated and therefore invalidates all those articles that say that it's a FileVault restriction. It's definitely not! Actually for me with my OCLP spoofed system it makes no difference whether I select "user list" or "name and password". The bootscreen login always shows the user list. As mentioned earlier the location of both default wallpapers is /System/Library/Desktop Pictures/.wallpapers/ It is a hidden folder that needs to be enabled first. It contains the static Sonoma wallpaper Sonoma.heic. The subfolders /Sonoma Horizon/ and /Sonoma/ contain the dynamic default backgrounds. These are protected system files and permissions cannot be edited. So it's impossible to replace the default vineyard picture by another one manually. Would be nice if the developers will sometimes later find the time to solve this issue somehow even if it does not really have priority...

when I change the desktop and reboot, my lock screen shows my current wallpaper, if it's a video, it animates and plays the video.

I thought it was maybe a coincidence after installing the latest OCLP since the screen froze and didn’t go black, but I haven’t seen anyone else having this issue from OCLP.
Over here I see no issues with TM. Had to finish the installation in safe mode, however everything worked as expected right afterwards. Patched with 1.2.0
It's a bit late in response, however, just as a data point for 27 " iMac 13,2 with same graphic card, but with original internal fusion drive and Bluetooth. I did not encountered any problems with 14.1 RC, nor official 14.1 release.
Both releases installed OTA ,and using latest (at the time) OCLP nightly.
Indeed, works well on 27" iMac 13,2 late 2012.
