I've wondered about that too. A couple of pages back I mentioned it vis-à-vis having to use the power button to wake my 2013 MacBook Air. I may do a clean install without encryption once I've read a bit more about the latest updates to Sonoma and OCLP.
A fellow Mac HTPC set-up, it seems! Seriously, isn't the Mac Pro too loud?

"Kill Dock" is not working always. Found a quicker way than using terminal. In any app just maximize and restore it by pressing twice Fn+F and all missing icons fixed.
With OCLP 1.0.3 26.11.2023 installed on main partition of main ssd I downloaded 14.2.b4 on Monterrey partition with OCLP 1.0.3 downloader with no creating boot device. I launched installer from it. It takes 45 min. At the the third stage on reboot it hangs. I reboot on safe mode and I installed 23C5041 KDK and root patches for mini late 2012 OCLP 26.11.2023.
All works wonderful no issues. Thanks to devs foe great job.

This time it took almost 2 hours to update. The apple servers were pathetically slow to download the update 14.1.2 Then expansion took almost 30mins. Not to forget my unsupported old 2011 macbook Air with just 4gb ram (a Curse) .
And finally the OCLP job took 4 boots and another 40 mins and finally got there.

As I wrote in my post my battery life is great on Monterey. I get around 5 hours of use on a single charge. I did change my battery a bit over a year ago to an original Apple one. My original battery got swollen and I had no other option.
I only experience severe battery drain on Sonoma with OCLP (also did on Ventura with OCLP) and so I know it's not a hardware issue, rather that the OS is using a lot of CPU power. Maybe it's not optimized as much? No apps are draining it in particular, in Activity Monitor, everything seems fine.
Even the OS without any apps is running pretty warm, the CPU fan spins up after a few minutes of just real light tasks like typing text in Notes. So the battery drain seems to be a consequence of the extra CPU load on the machine.
Other than that, barely any bugs and I am really happy that this could be achieved. Having all the new features on an old MacBook is awesome. I cannot really use the resource-intensive stuff like Widgets because the OS would slow down significantly, but overall I am very thankful for the devs who put this together.

Is it only 3802 having video glitches including missing icons on the menu bar? I have been using Kepler, it mostly worked in that I have been able to bear with it for almost a month, but finally I downgraded to Ventura. Migration Assistant went surprisingly smooth.
I wonder if non-Metal fares any better? Because I have an older Mid-2010 iMac with very old AMD graphics.

This iMac11,3 2010 can be upgraded with an AMD metal GPU avoiding at least non metal and 3802 problems.
We have been requested, as @olad politely pointed out, to not link to the nightly version of OCLP. 🤷♂️
You remember though, that there was the MBA with 2 Gb of RAM - it was practically unusable! 4Gb RAM made them usable. What was Apple thinking of?
