Real macs with standard system. As opposed to real macs with OC and OCLP and Hackintosh with OC.
I fully agree that OCLP / Open Core has blurred the lines between Macs manufactured by Apple and hackintoshes. I still refer to Apple-manufactured Macs (supported or unsupported) as "real Macs" to distinguish them from hackintoshes. I say this as someone who has implemented Open Core / OCLP on "real Macs" and hackintoshes to the point where I find them to be functionally indistinguishable.
EDIT: The link that I posted here is primarily intended for hackintoshes, but because our "real Macs" now use Open Core, some of the Dortania advice may be applicable to "real Macs."

Yea I took a look. I'm not having any issues going into or out of hibernation, just that it sometimes requires pressing the power button for it to resume.
That sounds like an acceptable solution to waking from hibernation. How would you like to wake from hibernation? If by a USB-connected device, is it possible that the issue is with the USB-connected device?
On my "real" Big Sur install I just had to open the lid. I guess I should have mentioned this is on a 2013 15" MacBook Pro. This may even be a change Apple intended, I'm not sure!
@Flyview At the risk of angering others, I'll reference my hackintosh experience again ... wake on lid is a common issue with hackintosh users. I needed to implement patches to make wake-on-lid work in macOS on my Dell Latitude E6410 emulating MBP6,2. Candidate solutions for wake-on-lid are mentioned in this thread that I mentioned (a thread by Dortania, the creators of OCLP). One solution is a PNLF patch (SSDT-PNLF). I have never had to fix wake-on-lid for a real Mac, so I'm sorry I don't have more advice and I think this would go off-topic for this thread (and would anger some).
Upgraded Broadcom Bluetooth BCM_4350C2 not working with Mac Pro 5,1 and Sonoma 14.5 and OCLP 1.5.0. Wifi is working and oddly my Bluetooth keyboard works but Bluetooth in system prefes turns on then off and does not see any devices while its on and when it's off the apple BT Keyboard still works. Does anyone know a fix?
Originally I think it started in Ventura maybe there where posts about MacBook Pro mid 2014 would switch straight off after logging in saying battery flat this has been a random problem didn’t always happen anyhow using OCLP 1.5 and Sonoma 14.6 beta 1 currently the battery seems to be running perfectly every power up without having to plug in so I don’t know if something changed in OCLP or not but it seems much better .
Need some advice on uninstalling OCLP. I switched from an unsupported headless MBP 2016 running OCLP 1.50n and Sonoma 14.5 to a supported M1 MBA 2020 running Sonoma 14.5 by using a Time Machine backup and Migration Assistant from the 2016 MBP. At first boot after the account migration I got a message that there is a new OCLP 1.6 version and would I like to upgrade. I assume this came from a copied Dortania folder in /Library/ApplicationSupport, which I have now deleted. Is there anywhere else I should look in the file system to check that no other remnant of OCLP was migrated across?
When attempting to D/L the current KDK for macOS 14.6 you will get this - KDK for macOS 15 (24A5279h)

Anyone else been having issues with MacRumors and the forums today? Haven't been able to connect most of the day, it just times out, and I haven't seen any announcements or anyone ask about it, when I have been able to connect.
I replaced the original Wi-Fi/bluetooth card with a new one in the mini pcie slot.

Thanks, since it happened right after I cleared my conversations, wasn't sure if I had done something to get banned. That;'s why i was checking on my own to see if it was an issue for everyone, or just me. Since I hadn't seen any other comments until today, was just checking
