Does anybody have access to Apple's True Tone software for re-pairing an exchanged LCD with the logic board to calibrate True Tone and write the hash to rom?

Since no one else has answered, I will and suggest that, either you go to a third party authorized repair place, or get an apple certification for yourself, so you have access to those tools. In following the right to repair trend, it seems like third party dealers might be more willing to help over Apple directly. Don't quote me on this because it's been a while, so my info might be out of date. The other thing is, is what you're wanting to do covered by Apple's self repair program, and can you get the needed software / hardware through Apple's program?

I had this particular issue, and also random kernel panics upon waking up from sleep on my Late 2012 iMac running Sonoma.

I managed to fix everything by disabling Power Nap within the energy settings.

Go figure.

Did you also disable "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" and also turn on "Prevent automatic sleeping when the display is off"?

Others may find differently, but I have never needed to set those as you described.

No, those are enabled.

• The self-service diagnostics tool that arrived in the US last year is now available in 32 European countries.
• True Tone, the color-balancing screen feature, can soon be activated on third-party screens, "to the best performance that can be provided."
• Battery statistics, like maximum capacity and cycle count, will be available "later in 2024" for third-party batteries, with a notice that "Apple cannot verify the information presented."
• Used Apple parts, transferred from one to another, will be "as easy to use as new Apple parts" in select products "later this year."
• Parts for "most repairs" from Apple's Self Service Repair program will no longer require a device serial number to order.

In other news, I have put Sonoma back onto this iMac 17,1 as the macOS portion of my dual boot and the Heroic Game launcher is working with open core, and the games I want to play do launch in wine as they did under Monterey, and there doesn't seem to be anymore issues for the time being. Since my main reason for keeping VMs around was for backward and cross platform compatibility,, right now it looks like I won't need to do that anymore, which will improve using open core with this mac.

Yes I did a single NVRAM resest as in two bootchimes... before doing the install. and tried after installing.

I have read a Ventura install is required to maintain functionality of the T1 BridgeOS Firmware.
Question,
Does the Ventura Install have to be on the internal device storage?
I use an external docking station with a ssd permanently installed within it. Could I have a Ventura Install partitioned into that drive and occasionally boot there when necessary.

Spoiler: About Apple T1 firmware updates

You need to maintain a Ventura installation if there will be any T1 updates until end of 2025. If you wipe the complete disc including the EFI before updating to Sonoma you also delete the T1 firmware image. This will likely disable the T1 functionality on Sonoma. So please check the EFI partition and the Apple subfolder and preserve the contents. This T1 image will only be re-installed when installing Ventura or another Apple supported macOS!

Well , just in case its of use to you, I send you the exact model on my two Mac Pros. They work like a charm, both in Monterey and Sonoma (they are the same model). First one is in Monterey. As you know, these modules ara a little tricky on macs, there are a lot very similar in model name but not 100% compatible.

By the way, the inventor of that plug for the cables should be in hell....

Mine works fine in Mojave and Monterey with Martin Lo OC with handoff etc, it’s Sonoma that’s my issue with OCLP 1.5.0 my Bluetooth is a different model than yours, and yes to hell he must go!

Thanks for the tip: SSD so wasn't doing anything anyway. I was having a lot of kernel panics but so far too good.

I don't have the ability to troubleshoot for another week or so if it isn't but the next thought I had was an external FW800 drive and to switch it back to USB2.0.

No, sorry. Not my first lenguaje. It is happening in a MacBook Pro 2014 13’ on OCLP 1.5 in Sonoma 14.5

I tried that but it always reverts back to enabled on its own
