It is strange. Is .7.6 Public Beta and .7.7 Developer Beta? I don't remember seeing that before.

Not sure if 15.7.6 was a Public or Dev Beta.
But it is no longer listed in a Tool like Mist:

Mist settings were as follows:

Very strange behaviour from Apple.

EDIT:
...but OCLP lists 15.7.6 🤷‍♂️

Strange the official release is 15.7.5 but they have two beta releases...15.7.6 (24G707) and 15.7.7 (24G718) 🤷‍♂️
MacOS 27 is around the corner. 15.7.7 will likely contain all updates necessary to play well with the new OS that most likely includes new hardware releases as well. I wouldn’t wonder if they internally work on MacOS 27.4 already.

Just wanted to report my first try using of OCLP worked like a dream on my newly acquired 2017 4K iMac. I installed Sequoia onto a 2.5" SSD in a USB enclosure attached to it, and set the spoofing to allow AirPlay to Mac on it which is what I was hoping I could do with this computer. Works great so far!

Also got 24G720 via OTA up and running on my cMP5,1 - but again only after hassle with NVRAM resets.
And once more found that the OC "reset NVRAM" option seems not have the same effect as doing the CMD-OPT-P-R chime loop for 3 times. Could not get past the early boot phase with endless "AHCI bla bla ... error code 0x3005" stalls. Only after NVRAM reset through Apple´s method it worked and continued booting and finishing installation.

Hi @Larsvonhier

Thank you for the information, so the update solution via an USB installer would seem to cause fewer issues.

That’s why I never use OTA updates but always an installer on a USB drive (when a full installer is available on Apple’s servers) and most importantly, before every update installation I trigger a garbage collector with the Terminal command:
Code:
sudo nvram ResetNVRam=1

In my experience, this command works better than 3 or 4 ⌘ (cmd) + ⌥ (alt) + P + R to clear the NVRAM of cMP 4,1/5,1.

And in order to not receive notifications of OTA updates (this also works for major updates), all other updates, such as XPtrotect, Safari or Xcode remain available, I removed '<key>revpatch</key>' and '<string>sbvmm</string>' from the config.plist NVRAM > Add > 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102 and added '<string>revpatch</string>' to NVRAM > Delete > 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102

Sorry to digress a bit, but if you really want to install the very latest updates for testing purposes, it’s true that they’re often only available via OTA

MacBook Pro 2015
macOS 15.7 to macOS 13.7.8

I downgraded for I still have some legacy devices or legacy operating systems in use.

macOS 15.7 cannot detect iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 15.x and iPad 6 and iPad 9 running iPadOS 16.x during AirDrop

After downgrading to macOS 13.7.8 which is actually a clean install, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad 6, and iPad 9 are all detected as sender and receiver during AirDrop.

I'm planning to upgrade the iPad 9 to iOS 18.x to be on the same level as iPhone 11 Pro Max running iOS 18.x but once the contents of the iPad 9 are backed up.

I'm aware of potential security risks but these are what I have that still works.

Did the MacBook recognize the mobile devices using a USB to Lightning cable?

I just tested my macOS 15.7.5 install with my old iPhone connected by cable and it detected it without problems.

Is there an easy way to disable the system notifications from showing to upgrade to Tahoe? I don't want there being any chance that it'll upgrade me to an unsupported OS, on top of just wanting to stay on Sequoia. The red badge never disappears and it's always showing to upgrade to Tahoe in settings, which I probably won't ever do.
