There are hundreds of apps since Cheetah that skipped direct support of the newest macOS. Some apps like Scrivener have only had a couple of major app and UI updates in the last 20 years with minor bug fixes in between.
ok, but which app are you referencing when you say "We will tell our app users that Tahoe is not supported at the moment so if they find bugs on Tahoe we will not support it."

lots of apps don't actually need updates to run on a newer OS, but app users should be supported if there are issues. no?
 
The cutt off scroll bars do look bad unfortunately. Good thing they disappear quickly.
Lucky you for hiding the scrollbar automatically. Unfortunately, I can't because I have had bad experiences in apps or on websites where it was not obvious that you could scroll because it didn't look like there was more content. I remember that I couldn't register for something because of that. Since then, I decided that I need a visual clue all the time that there is more content by having the scrollbar always visible. Otherwise, I always have to try to scroll to see if there is more content, which to me is bad UI design.
