macOS 26 Beta 1 - Working and Non-Working Apps Thread

Bartender 5 works fine for me in Public Beta 1, but if I try and run iStat Menus it then crashes.

I've been using Ice instead of Bartender and iStat Menus is working well for me.
Bartender was not working before I installed iStat Menus, so I uninstalled it. I then installed iStat Menus, and it is working fine.
I've ever heard of this tool but it looks exactly like the Hidden Bar replacement I've been yearning for. Bartender has never been on my radar as I thought it looked overkill and overpriced for my needs. Thanks for sharing, your posts may have just earned this dev an extra fan 👍🏼
fwiw, what's wrong with hidden bar? it's worked for me thru every beta since tahoe developer beta 1....
Nothing wrong, if it meets your needs. When I tried it some years (3?) ago, I found it was significantly lacking in functionality compared with Bartender. Checking now, I see that it has not had any updates in over 3 years - that would worry me regarding commitment from the developer.
Yes, hidden bar was slightly under developed for my needs too and Ice has (almost perfectly) filled the missing gaps for me today, thanks to you and gank41 bringing it to my attention.
Given the initial release cadence of Ice prior to the last release, I'm now a little disappointed that there's been no updates since Oct last year and the developer has also stated that Ice development has taken a backseat to their new job. I really hope Ice doesn't get completely neglected or just fall into 'occasional maintenance' mode. It really is a superb little app!
Of course, I'm happy the dev got hired (maybe even on the strength of Ice and its popularity), and I appreciate they have to pay the bills and when something is open source, very few will ever donate to the dev or 'buy them a coffee', but...I really want a couple more of the features on the roadmap now I've tried it 😅.

ah, got it. i used to use bartender, but it's overkill for me; i just want to hide some icons. so, it's a freebee that works perfectly in tahoe. it's basic, it works; am not worried about 'developer commitment' 👍

Yes...Sound ID Reference was but is OK now... don't know why... I had trouble with VSL Vienna Ensemble Pro Server v7.... VSL is now aware of the problem... do you use it??
all my logic plugins work, with some caveats: izotope plugins have some quirks; fabfilter has some save & rewrite issues. but nothing that keeps me from working 👍

- Create a simple ePub (in Pages, Calibre, etc)
- Import to Books
- Books crashes with the following error message: ‘Book Content Unavailable. There was a problem loading book content. Try closing and reopening.’

I got it to show up by doing two things in this sequence. Not sure if one of these would have worked:
- from the Applications folder, started Time Machine. It opens in the browse mode. Shut it down.
- from settings > menu bar, deselected Time Machine and re-selected it.
Needs to be done at each restart but it seems to work.
EDIT: just toggling the menu bar setting seems to work to restore the icon in the menu bar. Still need to do it after each restart.

Anyone having problems with iCalendar and iCloud calendars?
On PB1 I have the problem with sync icloud calendars in iCalendar app (Gmail accounts works fine)
Your calendar couldn't be refreshed.
The server did not recognise your username or password for account
"iCloud". Make sure you enter them correctly.
So annoying....I need to disconnect and connect again icloud calendars within the app every 2h......all the other services works fine
