Not sure if anyone posted this, but there is a new menubar item for network with icon similar to this. Will post a screenshot soon.

Seeing a strange issue with three fingers swipe up on trackpad to show missions control. On Tahoe used to clear desktop & show open windows at top. Now stays on open window & only shows names of open windows at top so need to move cursor to change window. Anyone else getting this. tried toggling three finger swipe up on & off to no avail. Bug or just the way it is now?
yep its the same if you have mission control assigned to a hot corner

What does it do if your system is connected to both ethernet and Wi-Fi? Does it just show both icons?
No. That's what you see. I was connected to both at that time, but maybe it was reflecting service order (i have set it to ethernet first then wifi). I can't test it, because i played around and deleted it for now. I usually get into code and developer stuff by beta 3.

Anyone having SMB problems? Trying to mount an older Mac drive over network and it sees the volume but when trying to open, it says can't find it.

So far Golden Gate appears underwhelming. A few design choices are nice, but it feels quite lacking so far. It feels more like an update to Tahoe rather than a new release.

I think this is new. About 5 seconds after quitting Photoshop, I got a notification that Photoshop was "still running in the background" and noticed this new "running in background" behavior in the Dock.

This is certainly new.

Would be nice if they could apply some Apple Intelligence to app quitting. Surely there must be some way for it to know some time after last opening a PDF I don't need the Preview app to just sit there until I quit it whereas yes I want to keep Mail running.

Quit just in general seems to be a crap shoot and a constant bugbear when I'm using macOS. Close a window in Calendar and it stays running. Close a Reminders window and it auto quits. Close Maps and it stays running. Close Weather and it auto quits. Nobody knows why.

I couldn't be bothered to search the automation triggers, so asked Siri to create me an automation which asks me for a filename each time I take a screenshot and save it with that filename.

It works perfectly.

I amended it so that it only triggers when capturing to the clipboard (as otherwise I get two copies of the screenshot, as it still saves it under the original name) and created a default filename consisting of the current app name and the date.

Is this how macos 27 looks with reduce motion enabled, or is this just how tinted glass looks now?
This is with the new Liquid Glass opacity slider set all the way to opaque. You can also make it just about completely clear if you want. (I would say this slider the best new feature of Golden Gate, but it really should have just shipped with Tahoe from the beginning...)

Oh awesome! I really hope that makes it to iOS as well.

iOS 27 DB1 is definitely half-done compared to MacOS. Usually it’s the opposite.

Tiny windows corner radius, fat battery icon, bland wallpaper, no more floaty sidebars… I’m sticking with Tahoe. 😉

Actually I’m serious about the fat battery icon… what was wrong with the previous svelte battery icon?

Every new 3D element must be balanced by a new flat element.
