still waiting for a menu bar app that's working on GG... 😕
if you'll find one, please keep us posted.

I've used these for years now, always.

I'm realizing with Golden Gate's menubar overflow tool that shows up next to the notch on my MBP natively, and the free space separator utility Spaced and the free spacing utility MenuBarSpacing.. many of us may have forgotten:

It can be managed pretty well without the utilities!

I don't think I'll need to go back really, after all..

Have you tried VueScan:

Lou
No - AFAIK VueScan doesn't support wifi and I don't want to hook up a cable just for some scans. Hope, this is "only" a bug in the beta; the ScanSnap folks were not the fastest ones to support new MacOS releases in the past...

Same here. Re-installed ScanSnap Home but this didn't help. Did you find a workaround?

This seems to happen with every new beta in the last several years! For this reason I will not be installing it on my primary computer. I’ve even seen it work for a dot version, then out again for the next. I also ended up purchasing and installing Viewscan to get me by.

Also tested and working:
  • […]
  • Tailscale
  • […]

Careful with Tailscale: worked perfectly as it was installed after the upgrade to macOS27 beta.
But it STOPPED working, when I let Tailscale install a new version of itself. Then the network extension wasn’t recognized. So I’d suggest disabling Tailscale (auto)updates, and just let the version continue to operate that works after you update the OS, until this is fixed. YMMV...

Thank you for the warning. I'll go easy on the updates! Tailscale is a critical part of my daily work.

Logi Options+ doesn't work at my side with the macOS 27 beta. While detecting hardware the app restarts constantly, and takes away the focus of whatever has the focus. Have uninstalled it, waiting for a fixed version.

I have installed macOS 27 beta on an external drive, perhaps that makes it difficult for Options+... although it works without problems on external drives with older macOS versions.

Update: the problem seems to be connecting Logitech keyboards to a Mac mini M4, connecting Logitech mouses seems to work fine. I tried these four keyboards, and all of them resulted a constant restarting of Options+: MX Keys Mini, MX Keys for Mac, MX Mechanical Mini, and Logitech Craft.

Adobe Illustrator 2026 (30.5.1) and the Beta (30.7) both work, with a caveat: they take about ~10–15 minutes to start working. Beach balling while it all loads up, and then it starts working. Found out accidentally while I stepped away after launching it.

Logitech Options+ (Version 2.4.903778) works for me on both my M2Ultra Mac Pro and my M4 MBA. MXMaster3 and MXMaster2S.

Like @flowrider, Logitech Options+ is working for me on my M4 Max Mac Studio and Anywhere 3S for Mac mouse.

Just tested out Adobe InDesign 2026 (21.4.1). It's working just fine. I was able to open some files, edit, and save, all without a problem. I've previously also had a problem saving files to a network drive, but looks like the new SMB only protocol has fixed that issue for me, as well.

Adobe Lightroom (not classic) crashes immediately when clicking profile Adaptive Color.

edit: Still happening in Dev beta 2.

Tried it, still not working...
Me as well, and then my bad sync issue (mentioned previously in forums) came up. Reinstalled from scratch, and I'm not bothering with Menu Bar management software now.. I simply turn off what I don't need and use Menu Bar Spacing and Spaced to augment

I think my days of Menu Bar management 3rd party software are over (besides adding spaced separators and controlling the spacing between the icons, as I mentioned)

Looks like Bartender is the first to drop initial support for menubar management for Golden Gate specifically: https://www.macbartender.com/goldengate/releases/
Thaw also has some initial support, though I am not running Golden Gate and have not tried it.
