back going 7gb at 14min
Installed the Safari update, still can't download Big Sur.I got that too. Updated Safari and after it installed, I was able to kick off the Big Sur download.
When they stop stepping into crap like this SNAFU then I'll change my mind. And FTR windoze sucks. and Apple is starting the show signs of lackluster attention to detail.Huh, not even close.
I use win10 and OS X every day. trust me. xD win10 is imho the best windows but OS X is great in compare to that
Same, just now. I can't see how it would be connected, but....not looking a gift horse in the mouth! It's going slow, and not positive it will go all the way through, but it's nice not to see the error right away anymore!!!I got that too. Updated Safari and after it installed, I was able to kick off the Big Sur download.
Worked for me!If you are getting "An Error Occurred While Installing the Selected Updates", do the following:
1. Launch the terminal
2. Run `sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder`
3. Retry update
update here - it failed again after clearing my cache. i'm back on VPN connected to Germany and it's downloading again.Mine was failing on the west coast, but continues to download while connected to Germany VPN via mullvad.
edit
i did the clear cache suggested by Skb3735 and that got things downloading again off the VPN so let's see how that goes.
You do know that tomorrow is Friday the 13th!Just spent 50 minutes on the phone with Apple tech support. After exhausting all the standard troubleshooting steps, my technician contacted a senior advisor. She was told that Apple is aware of the issue, is working to fix it, and that I should try again in 24 hours. This is as of 4:50 pm Mountain Time on 11/12/2020.
Guess I'll go back to obsessively checking if Arizona's election results are posted yet for the next 24 hours...
No.Looks like a Safari update might be required. Look the more to install message.
