I’ll keep my 2012 Mac mini (which has served me well, never felt sluggish, and that I still love) on Mojave probably for the long haul because I need 32 bit support for the software that goes with my Apogee FireWire Duet. Glad Apple supports “old” versions of the MacOS with basic security updates for a few years. I think it’s three years, but I hope it’s more. Wish they would do similar with outdated versions of iOS. Pushing basic security updates should not be a problem for a company that is so big and has so many devices out there that are still in use that are not running to most current version of iOS.

I'm hoping macOS Catalina is released earlier rather than later because my iPhone and iPad are running the latest OS and now my reminder don't sync over to my Mac!

The confusion may be over -- the Danish site has been updated to remove the direct reference to 4. Oktober. ...Now only the superscript 4 remains, consistent with the UK site, which looks to reference the footnote 4 about Arcade.

ok -- I see the OP has this update too.

I'm staying on Mojave on my main machine because I still use Aperture - it's not compatible with Catalina

I plan on getting a second iMac to run Catalina and newer software

Eventually I plan on switching to Adobe..

Why not dual boot? AFAIK if you're not using Bootcamp it's relatively easy.
