Losing 32 bit apps like indesign CS6 is just too much.

Clone your non-Catalina boot drive to an external HDD or SSD, then boot from that drive if you want to use CS6 apps. I've kept a CS6 boot drive on SSD that runs Sierra since that's the last version of the OS that Adobe still officially supported for CS6.

Say goodbye to Steam, Premiere Pro 2018, and a bunch of other stuff...

The rumours have been strong for a new MacBook Pro and Apple Tags, I’d imagine that a new event will be announced soon for a Keynote in the second/third week of October with Catalina launch.

If Catalina comes out in October as per Apple website, That means it could come out anytime from Next Tuesday, up to 5 Weeks Yesterday. Let's wait and be patient and stop trying to second guess Apple.

I can’t believe they released iOS and iPadOS without macOS being ready.

Because of the compatibility issues between different versions of reminders. Would it really have been that difficult to wait the additional week or two to release everything in sync?

As it is, i now have broken shared reminders between myself and the GF, because she updated and upgraded, and i didn’t can’t because my mac isn’t compatible yet and she didn’t know that. So she lost access to my shared reminders list for the household.

I’m sure there are others with more serious problems caused by this, heaven forbid any sort of business is using these applications to do actual work with.
I think Apple fell victim to the complexity of all the moving pieces. I am sure they didn't want to ship new iPhones with iOS 12 so delaying the release of iOS 13 would have meant delaying the launch of this year's family of iPhone 11 models. I think they chose the "least bad" option of staggering the new OS releases. Even though the staggered releases caused some disruptions to some users (such as what happened to you and your GF) that is an overall smaller disruption than delaying the release of new phones or shipping new phones with the old OS.

I am actually very excited about all the new Apple products coming next year. Laptops and phones. Can’t wait. hopefully a bit of a rebirth.

My biggest issue is on iOS 13, I can silence unknown callers, but because of continuity on my Mac, the robocalls are silenced on my phone but they ring through on my Mac. It's maddening when that happens right now. I need Catalina like YESTERDAY.

holding off here
i dont know if all my Mojave apps can be updated to the new 66bit status

dont have the time to puddle with this right now
things are functional using Mojave

This is the first time I haven’t tried the beta, locking to 64bit apps has stopped me form doing this. I have music hardware that prevent me from upgrading. Sux, I like testing the betas on an extra drive. But all I can do is hope the hardware gets updated. Likely not

COPENHAGEN’s LORD MAYOR WOULD WELCOME APPLE STORE, BUT REMAINS PUZZLED WHY HE HASN’T YET HEARD FROM APPLE, INC IN THIS MATTER

Since we’re talking Denmark 🇩🇰... could anyone please explain to me why there is still no APPLE STORE in the capital of Denmark!?

I’ve been in direct contact to Lord Mayor of Copenhagen (Mr. Frank Jensen) and he would be happy to welcome an APPLE STORE in buzzing and continuously growing Copenhagen, but be hasn’t yet been contacted by anyone from Apple, Inc ... and like me he doesn’t really understand why!?!

Anyone knowing more in this matter?

Cheerio,
Henrik

I knew there was going to be a catch with Apple Arcade (Catalina only). I was quick to opt for the trial but I am going to end it before it renews. There is no way I let let Apple enforce 64bit only software on me (old-but-still-better-than-newish games, emulators, utilities, plugins, etc) and I need Nvidia for development and research, not AMD. I am staying with High Sierra until Apple stops security updates, then I move to Linux.

Good luck to them. Apple Music is pathetically buggy on my Macbook Pro running the latest version of Catalina. For the general Mac consumer, this is a key aspect of updating to the latest OS and it does not even work properly. Apple is actually promoting Apple Music (separation of iTunes) as the feature: https://www.apple.com/macos/catalina/. wow...

If it's as buggy as iOS 13 i will not be downloading it, amazes me how they can mess things up as simple as mail.

lately apple seem to have been releasing new os's based on hardware releasees, rather than when the new os is ready. they need to separate the 2 even if it means releasing new hardware with existing os's. Catalina could still do with a few months work before release into the world.

All the people are worried about the date, still all are reluctant to install it straight away.
That’s human species for ya....
