  • When filling your screen with the App Store, the title of the View may be wider than expected
  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0

I've just installed and got a notification about the number of automations I have,.

It counted all of them! This should mean that the ones it was previously ignoring will now work.

My battery percentage automations were not triggering - I'll do a quick test and update this post, although I'm pretty sure they'll work.

EDIT: It worked!

Photoshop local ai delete brush now working without crash

Capture one crash with ML enables fixed too, Yay!(but still very very slow enhanced denoise)
 
Useless and nonsense icons are still in the menubar. I don't have a screenshot to prove it, but it seems like Apple added more icons to the menubar with this update. The Terminal command to get rid of them doesn't work. I would pay a king's ransom to any developer that can put together an app that gets rid of those menubar icons for good.

Speaking of the menubar, I still can't select menubar options when using an application in fullscreen mode.

The lower section of Finder's preview pane still does not align with the Path Bar.

Toolbar transparency in the Finder remains the same. I can live with this level of transparency, but I would prefer an option to make it opaque. After 26 years of Apple fiddling with transparency, I would be glad to turn most of it off.

The toolbar area where the Search button is in System Settings appears to be entirely opaque now. Maybe I missed this in the previous beta. Either way, good job, Apple! Next up: try to make System Settings that isn't based on the toddlerOS.

Messages's toolbar remains inexplicably transparent unless the mouse pointer is over it.

I don't know why my user icon needs to appear at all in Maps, let alone the top right corner. Setting that annoyance aside, the map mode + location icon pill overlaps the bottom of the user icon. Instead of cramming these icons in the top right of the window, Apple could add a real toolbar and put the controls in it. Nah, designing apps for macOS is too much effort for the macOS team these days.

On that note, the horizontal scrollbar is still above the music controls in Music.

The Apps application has improved scrollbars that are no longer cut off at the bottom. Another good job by Apple! Sadly, the same cannot be said for scrollbars in the panes on the right side of System Settings.

Apple is still content with red text on red buttons.

Certain dialogue boxes, such as that for Restart, retain their massive corner radius from Tahoe.

I just noticed that Open/Save windows still use the older Big Sur-era Finder buttons.

Weather still has issues resizing on my MBP M1 Pro.

As noted above, Font Book no longer has an icon.

Sorry! 😳 The font outside the table was white on white in bright mode for me. So I selected black, although it already showed black for the selected text. Could be a problem with my browser. But now it's normal.

The strange thing is, it already happened before, but only once and also exactly here with the thread for the first Beta 3 I think.

Storage for macOS & System Data has increased slightly here.

macOS reports 30.08GB but somehow says Apple Intelligence is at 31.3GB (was 29GB)

System Data is currently at 33.43GB (was 30GB)

So about 65GB just for the OS and it's files. Sure glad I opted for the 512.

Hope these values will decrease by the time the final comes out, but I'm skeptical.
 
guys I don't know...on my M1 Pro, I did install an old Sequoia on other partition and after using it for a day the difference in speed is so huge (Sequoia winning here ofc) that for now no Golden Gate or Tahoe can match. Other than that, with b4 I still have plenty of safari full screen problems and the left side panel is still not working correctly (Sequoia is the last correctly working iteration) so yeah for me I'm staying with Sequoia for sure. Golden Gate was supposed to be the os where they just polish everything but for me the way they messed app full screen windows is just bizarre, they even messed app the mission control animation 💁

Just saying for anyone having problems....Sequoia is working 10 times better than GG and Tahoe, ofc you will lose AI and other stuff but yeah...I will wait till macOS 32 or so to get really polished.

Cannot say anything bad against GG. MBP M4 Max battery life is significantly better now than on Tahoe and iMac is running twice that fast and smooth.
