Describing something as a ‘damn thing’ is an angry way for describing something, I’m any language. But I stand corrected, thanks for the lesson prof. Don’t assume someone’s native language on an internet forum where you can’t possibly know anything about said person. 👍
Touché I suppose, but since the author typed in English, I wrongly assumed the person understood English. ✌️

I'm soOoo sick of this Memoji craze. When I saw the WWDC splash page full of those damn things' I was embarrassed that I'm an Apple guy. Made me feel like we should all be about eight years old to appreciate them. Okay, let the poison pens fly.
You are embarrassed Apple is giving people options with the login screen? That seems a bit over the top don't you think? You don't have to use it. Having the option for others doesn't affect your workflow in the least.

I get being tired of seeing Memoji all the time. However, there are more people (with various backgrounds and ages) than you and me.

People of different ages will appreciate the Memoji. And some of them will be children. Some of you seem to have the mentality that Apple only builds features that are fit for you and no one else. Make sure to send Apple the memo. It doesn't look like they are aware.

Yes it’s a nice human touch. I think all ages can appreciate it. I certainly do and I’m more than half way to dead.

Plus also where else can you get an animated turd that copies your facial expressions. Truly a marvel of entertainment technology.

Change the Color of the Mouse Pointer

A new Accessibility feature added to macOS Monterey is the ability to customize the outline and fill color of the mouse pointer so it's easier to recognize when it moves or changes to an insertion point, crosshair, hand, or other shape.

Any other IRIX users happy to see this?
Or am I the only one left? 🤣

They're really grasping at straws to find anything new. Why can't they just leave it alone and fix the bugs
Oh really?

1) VPN-like system at no extra cost so you can freely visit sites and manage Mail without IP tracking.
2) Wipe MacOS of your files without removing the base system.
3) Universal Control. Works without any time-consuming setup
4) New Maps which looks amazing.
5) AirPlay to Mac.

Do yourself a service and check out the list of features of MacOS Monterey. The straw grasping is on your part. You're looking for something to complain about when there really is a lot to celebrate with this new MacOS version.

Spatial Audio only on AirPods Pro ? What about Max ?

Memoji look gross — repulsive, distasteful. Especially the human ones.

Imagine Nintendo Mii, Trollface and cheap kids CG cartoons combined and you’ve got Memoji.

Memoji at login. Why? It's stupid stuff like this that make macos bloated. Again, my 9 year old rMBP shouldn't run Windows 10 better than Catalina.
People who’re so happy with the new colorful iMacs will giggle when they see these animations. And it’s Apple‘s mission since forever to make computing accessible and easy for the masses. Oh, and no once would force a nerd ”me, for instance” to use it.

I wonder who is going to buy a Mac because of the the ability to change the mouse pointer color and the animated emoji at login screen... Probably Apple run out of useful ideas...

Ok. I'm usually the first person to say "what a stupid feature", but for some reason I love the idea of different colored mouse pointers. Sometimes a different color would be great for more contrast depending on what I'm doing. As for the animated Memoji....yeah. Well. I'm sure someone will find it fun. Probably my kids. Who are 5 and 7.

More code over time = bloat
Until the system slows down and is hardly as fast and efficient as it used to be then what you're saying is nonsense. The truth is MacOS has become more streamlined with faster performance. You're suggesting Apple doesn't remove old useless code, but rather just adding more. Your post has no credibility if you can't prove otherwise.

no.
There's extra superfluous code for "eye candy" things, therefore the codebase has got larger. I think most of the users would like to to see bugs fixed and more useful features added to the system.
For some users, this IS a new feature. A lot of people really like an OS that has charm and attitude, something we’ve really started losing in the past few years.

What bugs? I'd love to hear about these so-called bugs in an OS that was just announced a few days ago that's not even in public beta yet.
