Agree about Windows, but I'm not sure I agree that having the temperature in the menu bar is essential -- more of a "nice to have" IMO.
Well it depends on one's perspective, I spend so much time on my computer doing work and recreationally that I find it essential to be able to have easy quick-look access to certain information.

My mother on the other hand is an extremely basic computer user, when the weather icon disappeared from the task bar on Windows she freaked out and called me right away.

For me, there are certain things I need to see at a glance at all times:the time, the date, the weather, and what’s next on my calendar

Going to be negative here. It kinda sucks they're adding this without the little chevron icon to hide menubar icons from Windows... I've ran out of space on my MacBook thanks to the notch. Not going to pay $16 to do that.

Also is it just me or the typeface weight a little off in the menu that pops open? Padding seems wonky too... probably Catalyst funkiness.

It is in beta. ;) Did you use the feedback app to report your findings? It doesn't do that for me, so I would recommend you do report it.

Try 'ice', free and open source Bartender replacement. Will do what you want and its lightweight and excellent.

Been waiting for this for 15+ years. Lots of apps out there do this, but most of them either mangle the font/size/appearance of the menu bar or charge you $20/year to take the same info from the Weather app. It'll be nice to have it built in. Much better than a desktop widget that gets buried under your apps.
