Actually, this is a bit higher than I originally thought. Yeah, I did a good job on this one. But at least it has spanned several months....

I dont know why, but i guess i should start looking at the date of the post. I never realised. One day , i'll start a post that might last that long, a week would be great. hmmmmmm November desktops.........

Yes, I think if we engage in such an "amazing race" neither of us will ultimately win, other than perhaps becoming the record holders for "members with the highest post counts who have been banned". ;)
A race to 10k, when Mr. A's already lapped you twice to that goal -- and has the power to smite offending members.

Yes, you'd make the list of members who went out in a blaze of burning spam. ;)

Yes, there are some very long-lasting threads here on MacRumors, be not mistaken!

Yeah, probably not the wisest move a guy could make... ;)

I'm quite happy carrying on with my normal amount of posting, no need to accelerate it for a race...

We should have one day where we're allowed to race. That would be fun, help build up posting skills, and generate community involvement.

The winner gets bragging rights and a 100 pix avatar.

You gotta admit, that's a really good idea.

It would be fun. Ban-able, but fun. I fear that even talking about such an idea could get this thread closed though...

I'm +75 in less than three days (since my return:eek: )

Thanks for letting the Mods know. They will now proceed to verify that all your posts are legitimate, and if not, they will remove them and possibly ban you. :p Seriously, ~25 posts a day is nothing, we've all had days like that (Lacero calls those days "weekdays"), and during my early days here, I seem to remember a certain Mod who once ranked well over 100 posts in a single day... ;)

You all know that its possible to *reset* post count, don't you?

Its been done before and we can do it again :D :p

Understood sir, I'll be a good little 601. No racing for me. ;)

*lustful look* Sigh. Such power. Beautiful, truly beautiful.

I was just happy to have an avatar after three years. :D

It should be about sharing what we know, learning what we dont ... oh ... and rumoring what we hope for ... and not about ranks. ;)

*starts thinking in the low single digits*
Absolutely splendid idea. New posters start with 1000 and post count goes in reverse. When a member reaches zero...something mysterious happens known only to the Mods. Less 'tar more nick at ten. :)

Yep, I've said the same thing many times myself, you're absolutely correct. But every once and a while it is fun to discuss matters of this nature... ;)

At least they have been told that their mutant powers don't extend to changing the titles on a whim like they do at some sites...

Otherwise we'd have quite a few titles like Spam Monkey, Post Whore, I'm a Democratic, etc.

Having let his contributor status lapse, wdlove with 16,588 posts, is now revealed as a '604'.

I think I had one of those in a Mac clone once. :)

Wow. Just. Wow. Something. Definitely. To strive. For.

Who's wondering where wdlove went & why?

Here's to the Crazy Ones

Some of the post totals are very impressive, but does 15,000 or even 25,000 really do all that much for the person, other than massage the ego?

Then I guess you're 603 from 10000-15000 and 604 from 15000. We'll see soon enough. Mad Jew is just ~1400 posts from 10000. That should be done in a week or so...

:p ;)

Wouldn't that actually do the opposite? :p

What an interesting turn of events, I hadn't thought of this possibility! Yes, it has been a while since we've seen wdlove around - glad to hear he's safe and doing well, posting on other Forums. Hopefully he will come back at some point. :)

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking - 603 from 10,000 to 15,000, then 604. And from there, assuming there would be no 604e, what would be next, 750? And then the 7400 series? Regardless, it's good to know that the MacRumors gods have plenty of rankings to keep everyone busy for quite a long time... ;)

my wild guesses

the 602 processor is not one i can think of that has been used in any mac,

...so my guess, like most here, would be going from 601 straight to 603 at 10,000 posts, then to 603e somewhere after that,

...then on to the 604 at 15,000 posts, followed by a 604e somewhere after that

whew!

the g3 could start, just guessing, at maybe 20,000 to 30,000 posts, followed by g3e, g3f, and g3fx,

...and then there are the whole family of g4 variants,

...and then finally the g5...but maybe on those high levels it's just g3, g4, and g5
