It's waaay better than it used to be.

However, I'd rethink the black "active" tabs.

It's too contrasty and stark.

I'd find a color that blends better with the overall palette.

It's not black, it's navy. Match socks much?

I too am in the minority. I don't hate it but I don't think it's that great. And there's no way this is design is contemporary with 2010. Another user nailed it: somewhere circa 2005.

Enjoy the sunshine as it's blown by others.

I also like the new Buyer's Guide layout... looks great. Though you might want to use an image of the current generation iPad

stay tuned. I don't see a problem offering a super-wide toggle option for people who don't mind it.

arn

Great news, I would greatly appreciate this option! I liked it wide across my screen too. If we have this then im sold!

looooooove it!
The layout is similar to before, which is great. Little learning curve!

IMHO, an evolutionary step is much better than a drastic change like gizmodo's disaster.

Fantastic work - just need to get vBulletin properly integrated now as its looking a little silly.

That is unless you've joined the cool kids and are going to switch to XenForo ;)

Hope Arn and crew are reading this far in to comments

Arn, first I want to thank you for your dedication to the site. As you can tell, I've been around since almost you started many years ago.

I do like the option to switch between fixed and fluid - I prefer fluid so works nicely for me.

I like the faster load times, don't mind page 2 being gone and do appreciate better RSS feeds.

What I don't like is the amount of scrolling I have to do now to see stories I'm interested in. I liked some of the short quick headlines you had before on the left.

My two cents but please keep up the good work.

What does a 2011 site look like?

Am i missing the positive/negative news article rankings on the front page? That was a pretty unique feature to this website that captured a snapshot of the macrumors response to a post.

Please bring that back!!

Ah, breathing room!

A fresh, clean look. Plenty of white space to soothe the eyes.

For those wanting it a bit wider, just choose "fluid." But the nice thing is, is even that option is typographically sensible - still lots of white space. Less is more.

Much cleaner, less cluttered. Nice work, guys.

I don't really like the new design. Although I tend to hate when anything I use gets updates that make them different. Over time I always get used to the new one until somebody feels the need to change it again for no reason and then I get used to that.

iphone apps

there used to be iphone apps on the left side and when you clicked on it , it would show all the new apps. Where can I find it now.

This. It's a big change so it'll take a little getting used to but I think I'm going to really like the new design.

I think I am the exception too - I preferred the old format, found it easier to get on, find what I wanted and be done.
