I'm in Spain and getting the same problem on iPad safari

100% completely crashes when i try and go to an external page.

50% crashes when i try and go to another MacRumors page.

Same issue here. iPad air iOS 7.1.2. Only disabling javascript fixes problem.
Country Lithuania. Crashes started today.

iPhone 5S and MBA no issues.

I'm in the US and it's been happening to my old iPad as well, for the past few days but last night was the worst, nearly impossible to read anything. I don't use mobile view, so another thing that was happening was that the right side column would not load. I'm on my iMac this morning and sometimes the right side column is not loading either.

Are people still getting crashes?

thanks
arn

In Japan, crashed over the weekend

I saw the same behavior in Japan until this past weekend.
The crash would actually occur no matter if a MR link was followed, or if I went to another bookmarked site after viewing MR.

The last day or two, there have not been any crashes.

Still happening to me. Have reset safari and cleared history and cache, etc.

I'll try doing so again and restarting my ipad.

I am getting crashes on my 5s using 7.1.2 starting today when clicking on links on the home page.

Started happening to me again too. Using the mobile version of the site doesn't seem to make a difference this time. Really annoying. Macrumors is my favorite site but virtyally unusable this way. I hope it gets resolved as fast as last time #.

Are you using the mobile site or desktop site?

arn
I am using the mobile version. It happens like clockwork; typically after the first crash, I can click through the first link I click but any click after that it crashes Safari again.

Crashing on my iPad 3 on iOS 7.1.2 as well. Main site loads, if I then click on Forums Safari crashes. Also the zoom is too large, see attachment.
On my iPhone 5s I have no problem but there I have an adblocker so it could be an ad that causes the trouble. When the site loads on my iPad a black rectangle flashes at the end in the upper left corner.

Edit: I installed the same adblocker on my iPad and now it no longer crashes. The problem of the layout remains though.

Are you on iOS 7.x?

frequent crashes on ip5 / ios7 here, arn.

can people check now?

And can you specify:

Device, iOS version, and if you specifically changed from mobile to desktop or vice versa. Otherwise, I'll assume default for your device.

Yes, still iOS 7.1.2
I have the problem both on the mobile site and the desktop site.

The problem seems to be resolved for me. I didn't change anything from my side.

I'm in New Zealand on iOS 7 and Safari is consistently crashing on unload of MacRumors.com. Following a link, typing in a new url, or simply closing the tab. I have cleared data and cookies but no change.

Same here last week. Constant crashes when I opened comments.
Right now its working though.
Iphone 5c ios 7.1.2

Been getting random crashing of both safari and chrome on my iPhone 6+ running 8.3. Usually happens after I click on a thread and start reading for a bit. Started after the new forum version.

Still happening on iPad Air, iOS 7.1.2. Loading the home page and then clicking "new posts" to get into the forum, safari crashes. If I click "new posts" before ads load at the top of the page, I can get into the forums.
Letting the home page load completely and then clicking "new posts" to get into the forum, safari crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME.

There must be malformed ads in rotation or something.
